Hi everyone,
I had tried my mom's Oxycise book a number of years back, but never really gave it a try. I'm going to try to find it and be serious about it this time around!! Recently, upon returning from vacation and having gained some weight, I noticed one pair of jeans that was rather snug (and it was a more casual, kind of loose pair!). I started doing just the basic breathing technique here and there. Then one day I tried the pair of jeans and it fit! I thought I was dreaming, and that maybe it wasn't tight. But then maybe the breathing technique in itself was working?? Tomorrow I will take my measurements and weight and be serious! More on me now....I am in my mid-30s, married for two years, no kids yet, in graduate school for elementary education. I am 5'8" and USED TO weight somewhere around 128-130. I am currently somewhere around 187-188#. I am a size 16, most of the time. I'm tired of bulging out of clothes and not wanting to wear sleeveless tops/shirts. I'm tired of not wanting to wear shorts or having them rise up because of my thighs!! It's horrible. I want to start up with Oxycise (again) because I am so impressed with all of the pics and success stories. I will try to be better about what I eat (everything in moderation, I say) and NOT eat late at night! P.S. I have tried many diff. things and not ever seriously done anything for any great length of time: Callanetics (worked great on a roommate I once had), Bowflex (I use it sporadically, would like to use it more), treadmill (need to get on it!). I even have Denise Austin's Pilates still waiting to be used, and Winsor Pilates on it's way---slow boat to China, it seems, but it will get here soon enough. Hope to meet a lot of you here! |

Welcome!! The basic breath in itself is the key to the whole Oxy system so I don't think you were dreaming & yes you did lose!!
I'm a SAHM in France with 6 kids aged 3-16. My DH is a pastor. I have lost 18 kilos so far with O! & have gone from a 22-24W to a 20 jeans that is loose on me now. Welcome to the board, Tiptoe! It sounds like you've got the right mindset. Hopefully we can all help you stay accountable as you get serious. Come post in the D2L (determined to lose) thread each day. It's a great way to give/receive encouragement and stay honest with your workouts!
