Hi, I'm loggin in here as Maddie. I couldn't sign in with my old name Phyl so this is a whole new beginning for me.
My kidneys are failing and only working at 14% and I am on the kidney transplant list and getting close to dialysis. I feel pretty good and on a low protein diet which helps me feel better but I have low energy and tire easily.
I need to lose as much weight as quickly as I can and O has always helped me. I have lost 13 lbs. since August but have about 30 more to lose.
Transplant or dialysis both put a lot of weight on up to 30 lbs. so this is really important for me to lose fast. It will be dialysis as my antibodies are very high which means I will reject most kidneys and have a wait of up to 5yrs. or more, maybe never.
So getting in shape (the best I can) and healthy weight loss are on the top of my list so I can put off dialysis as long as possible and when the time comes be healthier to make the whole process easier on my body.
Not all gloom and doom here, our new puppy, Maddie has brought much joy to our lives and our move from Florida to Ohio is a blessing being closer to our children and grandchildren and finding my wonderful Dr. and transplant team.

Maddie, I am very new to all this but just love the postings, I think that this is a wonderful group. Thank you for telling us about your health-problems, specially with your kidneys. I am also having kidney-problems at the moment, having high-blood pressure is not helping so hopefully when I start my Oxycising on Monday I will soon feel better. I am probably one of the older ones here since we just celebrated our 53rd wedding-anniversary. But since they say that you are never too old to learn, I will start on Monday to oxycise, eat better and drink more water. Wow, I am even leaving my chocolates for someone else to eat !!!!! Ann
