Hi Everyone!
I'm a 63.5" 54 year old female Boomer who was formerly an active Navy officer. A hit and run auto accident in 1998 left me with mild-moderate traumatic brain injury, fibromyalgia, chronic lower back pain, and knee injury. To look at me you'd think absolutely NOTHING was wrong or amiss, except I'm now weigh 210 lbs!!! (And, yes, looks are deceiving. The subtle cognitive challenges are a real kicker!) My goal is to be a trim and toned 55 lbs lighter by my 55th birthday on February 8th. This is my first attempt at losing weight. I've never dieted before. Neither do I have a history of 'this or that' program not working. As I got older, I noticed my weight 'creeping' upward, but didn't pay much attention since I could still pass my PFT and looked terrific in my uniforms. Then the accident (1998) and medications (1999) became a part of my life. Next thing I knew, my years in the Navy came to an end and my weight was out of control. I grimaced and murmured, but did nothing until I saw photographs of myself. I was absolutely mortified!!! Photos bring me to tears. I now hate all mirrors and cameras facing my direction. Since I'm in the public eye, I can't avoid either. I'm praying this community will be the support team I need to help me change my lifestyle. Requesting permission to come aboard? Blessings, Joyce |

Welcome to Oxycise!, Joyce! This is a wonderful program that I highly recommend. I've been quite pleased with my results over the years and honestly don't think I'll ever stop O!ing. If you'd like to know more about my success, I'm on page 17 in the "Smiles of Success" section of the website. I sent in an update about six months ago, but they've yet to put it on my "smiles" page. I was assured earlier this week that it would appear there soon.
Many of us post each day on a "D2L" (determined to lose) thread under the support and accountability section of the message board. Feel free to join us there! I noticed you posted a question in another section about which DVD to order. I don't really know your limitations (and don't have the EDI videos to know what they're really like), but you definitely need to start with the introductory kit (Beginning videos) of whichever series you opt for. If you get the regular Level 1, don't feel intimidated by the speed at which it goes. Most folks have to "work up" to being able to learn the breath and do it along with the video. The important thing is to BREATHE! I look forward to seeing you around the board! |

Welcome to the group Ms. Joyce!
Good luck in your new venture. Lucky you never having to diet before. I think I have lived my whole life since age 20 on a diet! Lin |
