Hello!
My name is Kimmy...I've got a great sense of humor! The one thing that gets me down is my weight. I always start something all gung ho and then don't see myself as a size 10 the next week and feel very overwhelmed. I am 29 and have been married for 9 years and I am the heaviest I have ever been. I weigh 261 lbs. I know my husband loves me, but he doesn't like my attitude towards myself. Has anyone ever gone thru this? Please let me know and I am open to any advice anyone has.
Looking forward to chatting!

Welcome Kimmy! How long have you been doing the Oxycise program? I understand your frustration, but you have to realize that the weight needs to come off slowly (1-2 pounds/week) to stay off and for you to remain healthy! Are you following any kind of diet/exercise program? We tend to want to try all these "quick fix" diets, but they don't work in the long run! Best thing is to watch your calories, drink water and get moving! Walking, swimming...whatever you can do that will help!

Join us daily on the D2L (determined to lose) board where we post what's going on each day..and struggles we may be having and our Oxycise workouts.

Looking forward to hearing more from you,

Laura Smile

Hi Kimmy!
I agree with Laura. Losing weight doesn't just happen overnight. Perhaps you should set reasonable goals for yourself. Then you won't get so discouraged when it doesn't all happen quickly.
Evaluate your eating habits and get into a regular routine of Oxycising.
Be sure to check in with us here....you'll find lots of encouragement and friendship!
Hope to see you around on the board!

Thanks...I'm learning to take this one day at a time. I have a good friend helping me thru this as well. I know it took me a long time to get this way. I grew up very spoiled thinking that things like getting fat would never happen to me. Guess what? I let myself think that instead of seeing the real image in the mirror. Needless to say, I have learned a lot out of life. This is just a highly visible attribute that I have yet to work on. I am trying to watch my portions. That will be a huge struggle for me. But I am trying to drink water before and with a meal to help me get full and I really need to drink more water!

Hi Kimmy! Drinking water before and with meals is a great step in the right direction! Are you doing any kind of exercise...like Oxycise or something else? Toning and shaping your muscles is going to really aid you in burning fat and calories! Just take it one day at a time...you can't change all your habits overnight...take baby steps and you'll do great!

I have just started doing Oxycise. I am also starting to do Power 90 again. It combines strength training and areobics. My friend and I just started walking again, though I hope to get a bike soon, walking just doesn't appeal to me as much. But I don't want to have to spend hours a day just to exercise, I have a family life too. Food portions will be my biggest obstacle to tackle.
