Smile Hello. I received the Osycise program a couple of weeks ago and want to get started with it. My 14yo son is wanting to do it also with me. I did the breathing for a week and then lost my motivation. I really want to lose about 70 pounds by the end of the year. I am hoping this is possible. I homeschool our 4 children and finding the time is hard at times, but then it is only 15 minutes and I need to MAKE the time........I have read the success stories and dream of being one of them someday.......I guess I will start tomorrow. I am excited about everyon's progress that I have read about. The program really makes sense. I am also incorporating walking with it. Anyway, I am going to be 40 at the end of this year and have a personal goal to lose 70 pounds by then. Hopefully my son can lose his weight also. He is wanting to do this with me and I am thankful for a buddy here at home. My problem is that I am usually tired and just want to relax when I have a few moments. well.........I will post more as time goes on. Thank you for allowing me to join thie group. momof4boys

Hello! Welcome to the board! I have 4 boys, too, and one dear daughter. Smile We also homeschool.
Anyway, I was going to share with you that many of us have found that it helps to have a calendar and some cute or pretty stickers, and reward yourself for each workout. It's a visual reminder to just do it, and it's fun! If we can make it fun, we're more apt to keep it up.
I use Jill's book, which is Level 1, and I usually put on my favorite music and go to it. I memorized my favorite positions long ago, and incorporated some positions off of other websites, too, for variety. Variety is one of the secrets, too.
Give it your best effort, and please join us daily on the D2L thread for lots of support and encouragement.
My oldest son has often done O while driving truck or tractor. He's realized the benefit of it for a long time, and has taught his wife how to do it, too!
Good luck to you and your son!!!

Momof4boys,
Susanna gave you great advice! We're all human and it's difficult at times to make a change. You just have to make the decission to some how work "O" in (15-20min.)Once you start doing it on a daily basis and feeling so much better, you'll wonder how you ever managed without "O". You just have to plan a time in the day for "O" and not let anything get in the way. Mornings are great for me because then I "get it over with" and don't have to worry about it later when I do get tired. Hope this helps! Wink

Until next time...
Susie

Welcome to the message board, Momof4boys! How wonderful that you'll have your own Oxypal right there at home!! I think once you get the hang of doing O!, you'll see how good it makes you feel and you'll want to do it each day. (I do it 6 days a week) I lost over 65 pounds last year and my goal was actually only about 40. Nothing wrong with hopes for the long-haul, but I recommend keeping your short term goals reasonable (say 5 to 8 pounds the first month?) so you don't set yourself up for disappointment. Some folks have great results right off the bat, but if you read through the success stories, you'll see that many folks had to work at it awhile.

Feel free to check out my success story on page 17 of the Smiles of Success. I have a follow-up to that in the Goals section of the message board under a thread entitled Goals for 2006.

Good luck to you and your son!!

Welcome from me too. You'll love O! once you get started. You and your son can encourage each other every day. Maybe you could schedule a certain time of day that you will O! together. First thing in the morning gives me energy for the day and if I O! at night it helps me sleep better. Good luck and stay in touch on the D2L thread. I look forward to seeing you there.

Thank you so much ladies for making me feel like I can do this and also so welcome here. I didn't get a start like I thought a couple of days ago, but today is May 1st and so, I figure it will be a perfect day to begin! I missed the morning opportunity, but am going to to make an effort to do it before bed......I need to get better sleep and hopefully this will help. Thank you again, and I will post in a couple of weeks. momof4boys

just something that may help you think about the time availability differently. I used this to start my prayer life too!

Will you give 1% of 1440 minutes a day to God? (or Oxycise?) If so, oxycise (or pray) for 15 minutes, thats 1% of 24 hours or 1440 minutes.

It's easier to think about the amount of time you actually do have in a day when you think of giving at least 1% of your day to something that is of benefit to you! Hope this helps. May peace be with you Big Grin
