Hi...I found Oxycise after reading the article in the First Magazine last night. I'm 5' and
weigh 130 pounds and would just like to lose
about 10 or 15 pounds. I'm 59 years old...and
we have 3 grown children. Am I the only "old
lady" on this forum? :-)
We're retired...fairly active...eat heathy..do lots of gardening and working on our 5 acres and in and around our home. But we could both
stand to lose a little weight.
I'd like to know if I can get started with this
program without ordering the video? Is it as
simple as the magazine makes it sound? If anyone can give me some advice, I'd appreciate
it. Have any of you followed the program with
success without ordering the video?
Thanks for any input from anyone! katydid

Hi Katydid....a big welcome to you, also! If you'll look at my reply to Cindy earlier today, you'll see how great I think Oxycise! is.

We have a pretty wide range of ages posting on here. Ruth always likes to tease that she could be our mother (or even grandmother!).

It's a great program...beneficial to all ages. Great for stress, toning, weigh-loss, and a variety of other "problems".

I hope you'll decide to join us!

Welcome Katy! I'm new also after reading the article in first magazine. It seems that we have about the same goals and it also seems that we have some things in common. I am also farily active, eat healthy (except..I binge on candy from time to time), and I love gardening. Just three days after doing the exercises in First magazine, I am already gaining energy. Keep me posted on how oxycise works for you.

hello again! So far, I have been using the technique featured in First. I would like to have a book or a couple of the videos, but I don't want to spend too much money before I give it a try. On Ebay & Amazon, I found books and videos that were reasonably priced. I'm not sure of the payment options that they except. Have you tried the exercises featured in First yet?

Hello to all of you again and welcome to you katydid and mommy X. Yes I am a little older than you. Almost 68. WinkI started using Oxycise about 4 years ago and I love it. I had done a lot of other exercises and never stuck with them, but I have with this one. I love the videos. They really help me. I havn't lost a lot of weight (my fault) but this program keeps me from putting on more weight which I was doing. But it has helped me in soo many other areas. I use to wake up at night hyperventilating and have to sit up for a while. I never do anymore. A bone scan showed I had osteoporosis in one hip. A year or two later had another bone scan and it was normal. This was after a year or so of oxycising. I have osteoarthirits and this has helped me so much. It keeps me a lot more limber.
Today I did Level 3 (my favorite. I am anxious to see the article in FIRST> I never get that magazine, but I will to read the article.
Well, have a great day tomorrow all. And yeah Kelly I bet I could be your mom.... Big Grin

SmileWelcome to both of you and I hope you enjoy O! as much as I do. I haven't lost a lot of weight but I think that's m fault Red Face
I do enjoy the way it gives me energy. I sleep so much better at night if I O! and my hips don't ache like they used to. If I stray from O! for more than a week I start to ache all over especially my hips, I don't sleep well and I feel exhausted after work. I don't have any energy to get anything done when I get home. All told, I can't live without it.
I'm not familiar with this magazine you all are talking about. Where can i find it?

Ruth, you can be my big sister but you're not old enough to be my mom.

Welcome Cindy, Mommy X and Katydid,

I'm almost 52, have a handicapped daughter at home who also O's and my Dh has just started the beginning of this month. He waited to see if it would work for me. I have been doing Oxycise since October and have lost 17 inches Big Grin It really helped me to have the video, but there are several on here who have been doing it just using the book and have had great successes. I have so much more energy, flexibility and even better balance, now. It has been so great to have my clothes fitting better. Sorry I don't know how many pounds I've lost. One thing Jill tells you to do is to measure and weigh so that you will see the progress you will make. Some people lose within the first week and for others it has taken a little longer, but you do lose. So glad to have you on board.

Jeans if Ruth is your big sister, am I your little sister? Big Grin

Hello! I only have Jill's book and the commuter tape, and I lost 68 pounds in one year. I know that others really enjoy the variety of positions in having several videos. Maybe it would make some difference in how much flexibilty you would have, also. I don't know. I just know that when I Oxycise faithfully, at least 5 days per week, I can really tell a difference in the way my whole body functions. My moods are better, flexibility increases, and my hips and back don't ache as much. It's SOOOO worth the effort! Give it a try, and welcome to the board.
