Hi I am a 31, I have 2 children, I am the assistant Manager of a apartment complex here in Northern Nevada, I am a Tribal Belly Dance Instructor/Perfomer and Drummer (Djembe, Doumbek.

I had luck with Oxycise and Body Flex and a breath system I learned from Yoga similar to rebirthing and one of the Tony Robbins breaths, I had made up my own little program and had alot of luck with it. Untill one winter when I was still in Illinois and feeling the blues badly and Yoga wasnt helping, I took a Anti Depressant and after that nothing helped. My body would not stop gaining weight no matter what I did. At that time I had never done the belly dancing,or drumming, just light yoga and breathing and dieting, things like that. Well I must of had a bad reaction to the medication because I literally turned into a zombie and really let everything in my life slide. I was normaly 5'8 and weighed around 145 lbs, I wore a 8-10 at that weight and that was fine. After 2 years on the medication I was up to 209 lbs and in a sz 20. I ended up so sick that I went into yoga work hardcore, which got me off the medication and then about that time I stumbled into Belly Dance , I have been dancing now for 2 years and teaching for one year, I have gotten back down to 165, After I stopped the medication that really came off on its own, I honestly didnt do much other then Belly Dance and a little yoga which may of helped, but I think getting off the medication is what really workedSmile Belly Dance really gave me alot of body acceptance even when I was 200 lbs, and I cant say I am unhappy with my body or really that worried about the last 20lbs but the other night I was going through some things I had saved and found my papers I had saved about the oxycise and other breathing programs, when I did oxycise my skin looked so good and I was able to wake up in the morning without caffiene, which is something I am giving back up for the new year, So I am just really here for the skin, hair and health sideeffects of oxycise, but do have a huge Yule performance in Reno Dec 18th, I would love to look as good as possible for itSmile So here I am, I had to reorder the book and vid, I had given mine away to someone long time ago, I caught them on ebay cheap though. But I remember how to do the breath and am working with that and a few others off and on. The body flex breath is very similar to a certian Yoga breath I studied a long time ago, it is great for a blast getting out of bed and getting your system going, but I like Oxycise for getting through the whole day, it keeps me sane and stable and energized and really does do wonders for the skin and I swear my hair grows longer when doing oxycise. And the one thing I am counting on being a belly dancer with a big performance comming up is, I remember from doing breathing before the first place you see results is alot of times your tummy area, so that is a huge plus for meSmile

and I like oxycise because after the inital money spent, the community here is free, oxygen is free, you dont need special clothes, it dosnt sit in your living room, I really have issues with the commerical weight loss industry ect, I like the oxycise is natural and its not a gadget, it is totally different then Yoga breathing but I love oxycise because they are semi similar and natural and I think the way ppl were made to take care of themselves you know? There is nothing plastic or fake or commerical about it. That part I really support.
So I will be around to check in. I am not going to measure or weigh in much right now I will know if I am thinning out, I am very aware of my body and see my tummy when teaching class daily so I will know if it gets sleekerSmile
But I would like to do this daily and in 16 days see if any of my dance troop or students notice I look thinner at Yule and see if I can maybe some new customers for you guys when people ask what I have been doingSmile

Namaste, Jessa

Hi, Jessa, welcome from me too! You have really been through a lot! I have read that certain antidepressants can cause a lot of weight gain, one person I know of was depressed in part because of her weight, she took paxil not knowing it could make her gain, and got much bigger! Now she doesn't take it and is losing.

Good luck, belly dancing sounds like fun!

Jennifer

Yup Paxil is the one that got me too, and just this Sunday I was at a xmas party talking to someone there on Paxil saying she had started to gain from it.
I went from ohhh I was probabbly about 150 or so because I had just had a baby 4 days before I started Paxil. But I was maybe 155 , my normal weight is about 145, so I was just a lil heavier then pre pregnancy. But I bloomed up in 2 years to 209 on Paxil. The amazing thing was when I got off meds, all I did was belly dance and yoga and I lost weight like you wouldnt believe, I literally flew down from 209-170 in a matter of like months it just went boom right back off me, so I knew then that yup it had been the Paxil.
But I did get stuck right at 170 for a long time, then last summer when we were performing dance almost every weekend, pretty much every dam weekened at festivals around reno and carson, I went on down to 160 and got stuck there, and was heading back into the 150's till this fall when I got lazy and there was no more festivals ..
I am about 167 right now, would like to see 145 again at some point in my life, but honestly if I can wear a sz 8 and be tight and toned and still over 150 that is fine. I am a tall big boned person, so I dont need to be any certian number on the scale, I just want to look a certian way, toned and fit you know, I dont mind being a little curvy and thick, I need the hips for my job..lol Dont really want to loose those at all, but its just my tummy, my weight tends to go right to it when I gain so I just really wanted to get a bit off that , be nice and tight and firmed and if I make it back under 150 I do, if I dont but still look good thats fine too.

Hi,

I am a happiely married 49 year old who has 3 grown kids. I also got depressed after my kids left home and I also have a low active thyroid. I work as a Ala Carte cook at my kids High School and my husband is a maintence, mechanic at Cerro Copper plant in our small town of 2,100 people in Shelbina, Missouri.I have had trouble losing weight until a couple of months ago I lost 18 pounds on the South Beach Diet and kept it off longer than any other diet. But now I have gaing 10 pounds of it back on and that when I found my oxycise tapes I had hiding in my drawer. I have the oxy book, Level 1,and level 2. and desperately want to get back into my size 4 -6 jeans again. But most of all I want to feel good about myself again also. I really need your support and your encouragement to get back on the road to good health and fitness. Can anyone be my friend>
Thanks,

Cindy K.

Hi, Cindy! Congratulations on your successful weight loss! Big Grin It is highly annoying when some comes back on, isn't it? Definitely give oxycise a chance. Some people find it helps with depression, too, so you could find extra benefits.

Hi Susanna I am back, I have to say I got lost and gave up oxycise during some major chaos at workFrown

But I am back on the wagon as of today , my lost flub came back after I quit Oxycise for a few weeks so I am here to tell yall DO NOT GIVE UP, IT COMES BACK WHEN YOU DO AND ITS VERY SCAREY..LOL

and I lost 10 lbs when I was gone from stress and a chaotic job that i couldnt find time to eat on, and I still gained my flub back, even with loosing 10 lbs, bizzare I know, but the truth.

So I am ignoring my scale now, its evil..lol

and just going back to doing oxycise

I have a big big video taped performance comming up in 17 days, so I will be here daily till then to make myself check in, I will do oxycise atleast 2 times a day for 17 days, I am the offical guniea pig now..lol

I am watching what I eat a little in this time too, just for a added punch, not going health nut, no no but I am going to try to really watch it and use serious moderation here.

Moderation and me are not friends, this should be very interesting..lol
