Hello, I am new here. I have just started doing O. I using level 1. I have a couple of questions for you ladies. How can you modify some of the positions? I don't have a bare wall even close to the tv and I don't hardly have enough floor space to stretch out. Also are any of you following low carb eating plan?

Welcome! Glad to have you here. Is your TV in your bedroom or another part of the house? You might use a dresser or piece of solid furniture for the wall exercises. As for the floor, I'm not sure about that. She does have an Easy Does It series for people who can't get on the floor (I know that's not really your case..but maybe one of those would help?) And if you can't find floor space or wall space....just do the standing and chair exercises over and over again. I don't have open wall space in front of the TV either, but I watched the wall exercises really good, and went around the corner where I did have space and could still hear the TV. There aren't a lot on the wall that you couldn't memorize them quickly.
You might also try posting your question to the "Ask Julie and Jill" section of the board.
Hope you can find a solution! Hope to hear more from you on the board!

Hi! and welcome to the Oxycise board. It's always great to see new people!
Laura made some good suggestions. The only thing I might add is to try your floor positions on a bed or couch. Depending on what room I would do my Oxycise in...I sometimes did the wall positions against the back of the door.
I hope you enjoy the program and I look forward to seeing you on here!

Thanks for your ideas. Didn't think about the door it is a ways away. My tv is in the living room, I have open concept and a strange layout. Just tried to stretch in place might work?? I am still trying to get the breathing down so I can keep up. I guess that is the most important. Thanks Joyce

I have the Easy Does It tapes , the book and Fuel for Success book.I still modify the standing positions. They hurt arthritis so I sit through them. I am trying to follow the New Mayo Clinic diet which is not affiliated with the Mayo Clinic .It is basically a low carb program.I like it cause Im never hungry. Welcome to the beautiful oxy ladies group.

Is the Mayo clinic the 1 with all the grapefruit? I tried it before if it is, but now that I take Zocor that is a big no-no. I also just sat in the chair and did some of the stretchs that were for the wall. Couldn't tell the difference. I am trying to do O in secret, well didn't tell my family I was doing it wanted to see if they could tell any difference in me. That and if it doesn't go as fast as I would like I won't have to explain to any body either. Just my O pals. Is this a good idea do you think? Joyce

I'm not sure that my diet plan falls in the low-carb category, but I would be happy to email an outline of it to you if you would like. I am using the ChangeOne plan from Reader's Digest (Jan. 2003 issue).
I decided to quit telling my family how many pounds I've lost, because I really don't want them to know how heavy I got to be!!! It feels so good to be making progress though!

Susanna, I would like it if you send me the outline of the plan you are using. Are we just supposed to put our e-mail address on our posts or is there another way to do it? As soon as I find out I will get my address to you. Thanks Joyce

I've just started, as well, and I'm using the book to learn. Just getting the breathing down has been a lot for me, but I'm trying to add some positions now. I hope you keep posting, Joyce. We can work on this together.
