I read the article on First and thought, what the heck! I've tried everything else. After a 180 pound loss on Atkins, I have gained about 60 back due to a bad marriage and just can't seem to get that off. But I have changed jobs too from a restaurant, on my feet one, to a call center, on my butt one, so I know the change in activity hadn't helped. PLUS three miscarriages played hell with my hormones. My 7 year old and I made a pact to do these together (she needs to lose about 10 pounds herself due to "daddy's" emotional games). I just wish they'd ship faster!!! I read the threads on how to do the breathing. I tell you, first I had a head rush, then after a few puffs, my abs hurt. I'm out of shape!!! But just after those few breaths I tried, my lungs felt clearer and more able to breathe and I did enjoy the relaxation. I'm back on a ketogenic diet, lower in fat than Atkins. I do take Leptopril, but I don't think they do much for me. I am a sweet addict, but I think it was compensation for my misery because I had a handle on it until my marriage. Then it was "give me cake!!!" Big Grin I will make an effort to post on D2L daily when we get the DVD's in. I bought the special with the CD and all. I was gonna get it on EBAY but this site has the guarantee, I like that. I WILL make this work!!! If not for weight loss but to feel better, I can't even make it up 2 flights of stairs at work anymore without painful knees and being out of breath!!

Hello Gweebles,

Glad to see you hear. It sounds like you have had a rough time and could use some of the encouragement that is found here. I'm still waiting for my order too. I try to use the breathing tips daily to get a jump on it. From what everything says you can lose weight even if you're doing it wrong. That's encouraging.

I had some success with Atkins 1 1/2 years ago. I've since gained back the 31 lbs and then some. I was thinking of starting it again. What is the ketogenic diet?

It's great that you have your daughter to work with you. And what a great age to teach her healthy living.

Keep your positive attitude. See you again!

A ketogenic diet is basically just low carb. I just don't claim any particular diet name, just watch my carbs, drink water, and avoid the sugar alcohol fake foods. I tried doing O! in my car today. I learned 2 things. One, don't try this wearing a waist cincher, your lungs are too crushed to do it, also don't do this if you really have to pee. Big mistake! Oh well, I know every gas station between home and work anyway. My daughter is going to wait until the videos come in, she is too young to understand the book version. I will be keeping up in here, hopefully daily if I can.
