Hello everyone Razz

I'm new to this message board & Oxycise. I've just turned 57 on June 28th, I'm a little shortie, 5'2" and I now weigh 187 lbs! and boy do I feel it Eek. I tried the Sanoma diet which I lost 7 lbs the first week then I got sick and I've had trouble starting it again. I also had read about Oxycise which interested me as I had just quit Curves. I didn't find that Curves did much for me, it seemed to take forever before any changes were noticed.

I finally took the plunge and ordered the tapes after reading about Oxycise in the First Magazine. I'm having a lot of problems getting started but I have been practicing, when I remember, the breathing. The other day on the way to the beach, which is a 45 min drive, I put the travelling CD in. Boy, what a workout while driving, I did have to stop a few times as I was driving around the corners of mountains so i could pay attention to my driving. I was surprised that I actually got thru the whole thing!

Sometimes when I try to start I start to sweat so much I give up. It's very hot here in my town in Westbank, B.C. Canada and I'm also going thru menopause so I suffer with hot flashes whenever I do something strenuous. Does anyone else have that problem? Roll Eyes

Hi Hobbut! Welcome to Oxycise! and the message board! I can relate to your hot flash problem. Mine have been coming and going in full force for awhile now, but I'm getting use to it, lol.

Come post with us on the D2L (determined to lose) thread each day. It's a great place to get lots of support and encouragement. Many of us stay accountable to each other by posting our workouts there.

Hope to see you there!

SmileHi Hobbut,
O is different from anything I have every done and I love it plus it does work. The very first week I lost 1 and a half inches in my waist is that amazing or what. As far as the sweating, when I do O I sweat like crazy. I stand in front of a fan or get in the AC. I don't have hot flashes yet so it is not that. Maybe we are working harder than we think, maybe we don't have to jump around to sweat. I think if you really concetrate on contracting all the muscles you can it is hard work and will make you sweat. Keep it up and it is just 15 minutes a day and you get toning, stretching and your heart rate up. Just keep doing it, it took me awhile to figure out the breath and tighten my muscles at the same time, but now it is so natural I don't even have to think about it. Have a nice day. Wink

Hi Kelly & Tambo

Thanks for the warm welcome Smile

I'm glad to hear there is lots of support on this discussion board, it makes it a whole lot easier when you know someone else is doing the same thing as you.

I have a lunch date so I don't have time to do "O" this morning but will try to do some with the travelling CD. I will be back later today/tonight. I'm in the Pacific Western time zone.

Again, thanks for the warm welcome! Can't wait to get into more discussions

HI Hobbut,

Welcome to the board. Yes, I frequently sweat a lot doing O, also. I'm 52 and occasionally I get those pesky hot flashes, too.

I'm in your time zone. BC is so beautiful. We've been to Victoria, Vancouver and when I was younger drove through much of the lower portion of BC.

I believe you will really enjoy the results you will get with O. The commuter CD really does work your body. Do stay safe especially when on the mountain roads.

Welcome and come post with us on the D2L thread.

Sharon

Hi Sharon

You said you are in my time zone and you have been to BC. Where are you?
Yes BC is beautiful and very hot at this time, it's been in the high 90's to 100F so it's been hard to do any exercising.
I'm glad you know what it's like to drive thru some of the mountain ranges, so I will be careful. Thanks for the encouragement about "O".

Hi Hobbut,
I live in Auburn which is at the southend of the Seattle metro area. Also lived in Everett and on Whidby Island both north of Seattle.

My husband's job used to move us around a lot. So I've lived in many places in the US. Even when I was a little girl, my Dad's job moved us. I love having lived in so many places and traveling on vacations.

Have a blessed day.

Hi Sharon

I've been to Seattle a few times also. My favorite place is Lynwood but then I haven't seen all the areas of Seattle. Have walked along the docks in Seattle, reminds me of the docks in Toronto, which is where I'm originally from.
