Roll Eyes hmmmm..not sure I'm posting in the right place (never stopped me before) Big Grin
I've had O! tapes for ages, tried them a few times, but I am lazy. Wink I'm 42 now and about 144 pounds... at the age of 22 I was 240 pounds.. so all is not lost...hehehe. Trouble is, I am only 5'2". I figure if I make myself responsible to someone (this lovely group) I might actually do it this time.
If I have posted this in the wrong place.. I will kindly take all redirections. Big Grin

Looking forward to meeting you all.. if I can be of help just give me a holler.

Wow! How did you lose so much before? That is an incredible accomplishment. Well, I love oxycise. I've been losing lbs and inches slowly but surely, and toned up too. It can really help energy wise. It is encouraging because it doesn't take so much time and sweat.

Anywhere you post, we'll find you! Most of us post daily on the line that says "Daily Support and Accountability". Good luck- and I look forward to seeing more of you!

Thanks for the welcome! Smile I lost most of the weight in a year by starving myself. Roll Eyes and exercising like crazy with every program on the tv at the time. (where have all those shows gone? for that matter, where has all my ambition gone??) Since then I have pretty much maintained it by being careful with the occassional lapse in judegment lasting for months on end. Big Grin I think the most I ever went back up to was 160.
Now, this is probably *taboo* on this forum, but I found the most success in the past few years with the Protein Power Plan and Atkins. But, and this is a big BUT, I was always tired.. my hair started to fall out and I didn't appear to be very healthy looking as my family pointed out repeatedly. I went down to a size 4 and was thrilled by that.. but not much else. That was last February. I went for a physical exam in September and found I had gained 18 pounds since then...BOO!! Eek (no scales here.. very depressing to let the scales determine the course of my day) Since then I have given half hearted attempts to the low carb way. I just cannot do it.
What really brought me back to O! was a remembrance of a time when I actually did do it for about 2 weeks... I was very impressed by the improvement in my mood and my clothes were starting to get loose.
I applaud anyone who sticks to it!!! We are such creatures of sloth sometimes.. LOL!!

Very best wishes to you Jennifer.. and thanks again.

I have tried to do PPplan and Atkins type diets, but was never able to stick to them for long--too extreme. My guess is that you can't do it now for the same reason. I do try to eat more protein and less carbs, and that seems to work for me. Rather slowly--but it works. We all just have to experiment, "listen to our bodies", and go with what works AND makes us feel and look healthy. See you soon!

Hello geen eyed cat lady!!! I too tried the Atkins at one time several years ago. I lost 10 lbs in 2 weeks. It eventually came back on about a year or 2 later since I didn't stick to it. I had the same problem as you. Tired all the time. I had so little energy, I could barely push the vacuum. I just couldn't live like that. Plus I love fruit so much and I didn't want to have to give that up. At the time they didn't have all the extra atkins stuff that they do now. I guess for some it's just the perfect fit and others it's the worst. I've been Oing now for about a month, take a week away from being sick, and I'm already having good results. Well, hope to see you posting every day and good luck!!!

Hi Green Eyed Cat Lady! I've been doing Weight Watchers and I LOVE IT! It basically focuses on portion size, although it does stress the need for fruit, veggies, and water too. But, other than that, it allows you to eat anything. That's what I love so much about it. I don't like to be told what I have to eat and I love carbs too much to give them up. I've never tried Atkins or any other low-carb diet because I know I will not stick with it. I'm also a vegetarian, which would make it too hard anyways, but I think the lack of carbs is more the reason why I won't do it. Weight Watchers teaches you how to handle eating in the real world. Its more of a lifestyle change than a diet.
