The worst part of having a migraine is not being able to Oxycise! and feeling the effects of a regular workout slipping beyond my grasp. Yesterday was day 3 and I stood at the sink with L1 tape on and tried to breathe...I lasted 2 breaths. Today I hope as the fatigue moves away and I have the feeling back in my arms I can do most of a tape even if I have to hold onto the sink.
This will go on for me until Sept when the season ends of barometric pressure bottoming out.
I'm not saying this will work for everyone but I used to get bad migraines and my doc sent me to a Neurologist and he sent me to a massage therapist. I went three times in a two week period and she worked my head, shoulders, and neck. I haven't had a migraine since. I get headaches once in awhile now but nothing like I used to get..to the point I would throw up Ask your doc if it would be good for you, some insurance companies will pay for them. It's worth a try. Jeans

Thanks Jeans, it sounds very relaxing! It sounds as tho your migraines came from stress, mine come from food/drink which I avoid like the plague and the weather. I am however going in for a full body massage in 3 days to relax me. Thankyou for taking the time to respond Jeans that was very sweet!
Nancy it most certainly could have been stress. It's my middle name!! I sure felt a whole lot better after the massages. They are very relaxing. I'm glad to hear you are going for one. Enjoy! Jeans

My migraine has finally lifted......YEA!!! Hubby helped me clean for half an hour and we got all caught up so I can try and have a somewhat normal day tomorrow. Hopefully.
So sorry to hear about your migraines and glad you're feeling better.
I tend to get sinus headaches, which are almost as bad as migraines.
I have a cloth bag with raw rice which I stick in the microwave for 30-45 seconds. (Test heat first on your skin, take care not to get it too hot.) Then I put it over my eyes or cheeks ... whichever feels most soothing. Would also feel good for neck tension.
This helps a lot when I get those darn sinus pressure headaches. I don't know if it would ease the pain of a migraine, but might be worth trying!
Julie thankyou for the hint ~ you know I have one of those 'magicbags' and I tossed it in the microwave today it really helped. This migraine hit in the middle of the night when the rainstorm hit and the barometric pressure changed suddenly. The nausea was horrible, I swallowed my Gravol and it helped tremendously.
The Inderol med I take 3x a day keeps me out of the hospital, I am very grateful. Our weather changes 'back' in Sept so that will be the end of this for the year, I have endured 3 months so 2.5 more months is in the bag...lol!
Thanks to everyone for taking the time to respond, I am not alone in this I know. Julie I am sorry to hear about your sinus headaches. I had one 30 yrs ago and I will never forget it. ((((hugs to Julie!)))
Namaste, Nancy

I have just gotten the oxycise videos, book and commuter CD but have only practiced the breathing so far. I have two little kids and also get migraines, a deadly combination. I would love to hear from others about how this has impacted their migraines. Just the breathing seems to have averted the beginnings of one headache, though I did have one that it didn't seem to touch. They really get in the way of my ability to stay positive and completely sap me of my already limited energy. Thanks for this forum. I've enjoyed reading it. Ena
