2/16/04 I followed the diet I'm on all day. Now there's an accomplishment. I banished the scale like I said I would (after weighing), of course. I also did the commuter tape this morning since children were all home and couldn't get the t.v. I also started reading Dr. Phil's weight loss challenge. Hopefully, Dr. Phil will help me stay on the diet and Oing will help me see the results that I want. Felt really good after doing O today. I need to remember that. Will O again before bed. I've made a promise to myself that I won't weigh for two weeks. I think that will be the hardest part.

Hi fatigued,

I'm rereading Dr. Phil's book. When I got to key 6 'intentional exercise' I bought O!. I start out doing great and after a while I slack off. That's the problem with dr. Phil, he want you to do it youself. Big Grin
Maybe we can share some ideas and thoughts about dr Phil has to say.

I finished Dr. Phil's book a few weeks ago, and it really has changed my life. I'm an emotional eater, so, he really hit the nail on the head for me. I have to do my MER, though. That's a tough part for me. Also, I would highly recommend doing a food diary and exercise diary for a few days just so you can see where you can make some adjustments. I did, and, even though it was tough, it made me realize I was still eating WAY too much at lunch time. So, I cut down, and now the pounds are melting away again.

My two cents worth!

Thanks for the encouragement. Right now I'm on Key 1 positive thinking. That has been a "light bulb" moment. It made alot of sence to me. I thought I would work on each key for a week to make sure I get it down pat. I really liked it when Dr. Phil said, "Your thoughts are behavior too. Choosing thoughts contributes to your experiences, because when you choose your thoughts, you choose the consequences that are associated with those thoughts." That really makes me think that I need to pay more attention to my thoughts, because they can really affect me. I hope everyone has a good day today. fatigued

MER stands for Minimal Effective Response. The idea is to close the book on the subject that's hurting you with the minimal amount of effort.

You can find this on Dr. Phil's website. Just search on MER and you get an article on Self Matters Action Plan.

Ok I am another Dr.Phil fan and have his book. I have read it all the way thru and now I go back and read one chapter a week and I may never stop doing that!

Intentional exercise was my block but now with O! I have that block on its back.

This may sound strange but when I need motivation I read the article on here about oxygen and what it does to our bodies and I about Run out of the room and put my tape on! It really pumps me and I envision all that lymph draining and decongesting my fat cells and all the fat just emptying out and making me lean and strong and SEXY!

Enjoy your Saturday gals and guys if there are any! nancy
