I did my first O workout yesterday morning. It left my TINGLY. I was surprised. I wasn't tired afterward like I'd be after the gym.

I have been under a lot of stress and too fatigued to go to gym or even climb the stairs, plus I'm overweight and out of shape.

But then today I did half of the coummuer workout in the car, and then started to do the video tape tonight and konked out halfway through. My heart was pounding through my chest and I was sweating like a pig and just had NO gas left.

Am this abnormal?

Welcome, Laserone. I don't know about everyone else, but I've had to start out slow. It took me a week to get where I felt like I was doing the commuter tape right. Now I do two commuter tapes a day. My goal for next week it to add Level 1 and to more up from there. But, the one thing that I've found is that the more I do it the better I get at doing it. I have liked the commuter tape because I can just sit and concentrate on what I'm supposed to be doing. Sometimes, I have to catch my breath while Jill is talking, but that's getting less and less often. One of my favorite quotes is:

"That which we persist in doing becomes easier for us to do--not that the nature of the thing is changed, but that our power to do is increased." Ralph Waldo Emerson

Goodluck, and don't give up. fatigued

Good for you--you have gotten started! We all really have to go at our own pace, because our starting fitness levels are so different. Don't overdo it- do what you can. I always tell my kids-just do your best and your best will get better. It was a couple of months before I felt like I could get through the entire routine smoothly. But I did see frequent progress, and that is exciting. Welcome!

Welcome! Everyone seems to have different reactions when they begin..not to worry. Just worry about perfecting the basic breath and once you've got that down, you'll do fine! Also..make sure your blowing out just as hard, if not harder than you're breathing in. I think that helps you not to feel lightheaded!

When I first started, the tape was way too fast for me. I just used the first 5 positions or so and did them over and over (at my own pace) until I had reached 30 reps. This enabled me to figure out the basic breath. I slowly added more positions until I was able to keep up with the tape.

Congratulations on getting started!

Welcome and congrats on getting started. Haven't anything to add to the above posts other than I agree with everyone. The best thing is to keep at it.

Best of luck.
