The subject line is misleading. I have to help myself. However, y'all can all give me encouragement and support!

I finally got brave and stepped on the scales this morning. I figured while I was doing that I might as well measure myself, too. The weight part didn't shock me too much (my scales aren't terrible reliable, though), but I was very disappointed in my measurements. I don't know why I should be surprised....I knew my clothes were starting to feel tight.

Anyway, it's time to get serious! I know how to eat properly.....I just need to do it!!! I always seem to have some excuse. I have got to start eating properly! I think I need to get back to doing walk videos, too. That always helped me to try harder with my eating. Of course I'll keep up my Oxycise, too. That's the one thing I've never stopped doing. (thank goodness, or I would be even that much bigger!)

I know I've said this before....but I'm really going to make an effort this time. I've done it in the past and I know I can do it again!

I am right there with you, lady!! I have slacked off on my eating plan. Good thing I have been exercising and O!ing -- not enough O!, but I think I deserve an A for effort in my fitness endeavors! -- or I would be much bigger than I am now.

Today is September 1 -- a great day to embark on a new plan! Four (4) months from today is New Year's Day 2004. Can you believe it? Smile

I am heading in right now to do O! Level 1 and 2. I will be doing light weight training this afternoon.

We are all in this together -- let's DO IT! Big Grin

Hi Kelly!

We know you can do it, it really is about healthy eating choices, like having a drink of water instead of that chocolate bar, that's what I'm going through, and I'm hoping that with O! and Weight Watchers it will teach me a new way of healthy eating.

Good luck! We are all in this together

Hey Kelly..I know how you feel. Months of inactivity (except for Oxycise) has put on the pounds for me too. I re-joined Weight Watchers on Saturday and hope that between that and Oxycise I can get it back off!

You can do this...you just need to do what works best for you..a food journal...lots of water..more exercise etc.. One day at a time!!

Everyone has already said about anything I could say to you. You know you have a friend and O! buddy in me too. When I am at work, I can monitor my e-mail all day so, if you need me during those really tough times, I am here for you and will respond immediately. You did it for me and I am always here for you. It takes a village.....

Not to tell you what to do, or anything, but I have a little bit of advice that so far is helping me. Maybe it will help you too.

I am on my way to reaching my goal of a 140-lb weight loss. I am right around 60 pounds lost right now, since February 24th. I started Oxycise! on May 13...that's when I began measuring myself...and have lost 24 inches.

This is my plan...

1) Oxycise! 7 days a week with 2 1/2 lb wrap-around weights on my wrists and ankles;

2) Leslie Sansone 2-mile walking/strength-training tape using 2 pound weights 3-5 days a week;

3) Eating 5 oxygen-rich, fiber-rich smaller meals a day, keeping track of portion control ONLY. I DO NOT DIET, and do not deprive myself of that occasional piece of cake if I'm at a party, or whatever, and;

4) Drinking 72 ounces of water a day.

It is VERY SLOW GOING, but it is surely working. I am losing approx 1-2 lbs/week. But this is the safest way to get it off and KEEP it off. I have an eating disorder and have starved and binged all my life. Hence, my metabolism got shot to hell. I then went on to have 2 children when I was 33 and 35 and had gestational diabetes with both of them. I also have Major Depression, diagnosed in 1995. I was going down the path to either type-2 diabetes in my 40's or suicide at 36 if I didn't do something about it, and FAST!

I really hope this helps you. Write me anytime at donnac3311@netzero.net if you would like.

WE CAN DO IT!!!

Donna

You have been so faithful at doing the exercises and encouraging others and I have appreciated it so much! I want to give my 2 cents worth, it may not help, but I want to try. I hope by now that you have a better handle on things. Have you been able to start your walk videos? I think that food is so tied to our emotions, therefore I refuse to feel "guilty" for eating something "bad" or too much. I try to accentuate the positive and ignore the negative. Meaning- If I eat something "bad" or too much, I ignore that I did and I enjoy it. I put my positive energy into increasing the foods that are good for me that I happen to love, such as fruits. Watermelon is available year round here, so I always have some around because I love it. I'm also trying to increase vegetables, but having less success so far. Eating abundant protein has helped me personally to lose weight. It has been slow and I have a ways to go! Anyway, I believe that each person has to find what works for her. Your walk videos have been helpful for you.
You seem so kind and deserve success. Don't give up! We're all rooting for you and each other!

con amor, Jennifer
