That is excellent that you lost as much as you have so far. You deserve a reward! I put no clothes in there because I refuse to buy fat clothes. Until I reach my goal or at least my past normal weight of 120 I will not waist money on clothes. But if you want clothes that would be a great reward!

Thanks.

I don't think I should buy any clothes anyways. I'm a broke grad student so I need to go through my old clothes that haven't fit in a while. Plus, I don't want fat clothes either because then it makes it easier to get bigger and still fit into clothes I already have. I'd rather dream about cute and smaller clothes, which will hopefully push me to work harder and do more oxycise. (And looking good and skinnier when I run into my even-more-overweight-than-me ex-boyfriend is also motivation.) I actually wouldn't even let my friend buy a bra because she's going to lose weight so I can't really justify buying clothes anyways.

Maybe a manicure? Any suggestions?

Thanks. I like the nail idea too. The only problem is that it comes off quickly but oh well. Maybe a massage as a reward too?

I am also 24.

I've been thinking about your goals and rewards idea. It's hard coming up with rewards, I don't know why. Maybe because it has been so rewarding to look better and feel better, so other rewards haven't been necessary. But it might give me a little push. I'm trying to cut way back on spending, too. Maybe a movie, or a day at the beach. How does that sound? I like that. I'd love to go to Hawaii, and have been saying that for years. I'll pretend that that's my final reward for reaching my goal.

You 2 are young things! I'm 45 years old. Today is Nov 1. I want to be down 2 more lbs in 2 weeks- Nov. 15. That's a goal to be at 128. If I make it, I drag my husband to a movie. He'll be happy to comply because he loves my progress!

Thanks for the help! Jennifer Cool

That's great that your husband is so supportive!

It is hard to come up with rewards. I think part of it, at least for me, is that rewards for anything in the past have been food. I love food! (which is exactly why I am here) But I think you are right. A huge reward is just looking and feeling better. Although, an excuse for treating ourselves to something fun or different is also good. And the movie was a good idea too.

I think when I get to my ultimate goal(which is still about 60-65 pounds away), I want to take the Uptown Loop bus tour of Manhattan. I'm currently going to grad school here, and that is something I've wanted to do before I graduate in May. Since its expensive, I've put it off but if I can get to my goal, or at least close to it before I move out of the city, I'd like to do that. But 65 pounds is a lot for only 6 months so maybe it won't happen.

Where in upstate NY are you?

I haven't been 128 since I was 19 (five years ago). I think that was my smallest ever, but it didn't last long.

I'm off to do Level 1 for the second time today. I'm trying to be really good about doing it twice a day, especially since we've set our goals.

I almost went to school in Albany but decided on New York City. I'm originally from Massachusetts but currently going to Columbia for social work.

I agree with Tama, you should take the trip either way! BTW, I have met a young lady here in Guatemala who recently finished her master's in social work at Columbia. Her parents have bought a home near us to turn into an orphanage, and she is here alone to start receiving children. She was here for dinner tonight. I know it's a long shot, but is there any chance you know her? Her name is Sarah Dahlia.

Jennifer--

I actually don't think I know her. I only know a couple people from last year's class. It sounds like she will need her social work skills in helping to run an orphanage!
