A "Travel Guide" for the Oxycise! "Road to Success" ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Welcome to the journey of a lifetime! You are on your way to becoming a more slender, happy, healthy YOU. Whatever condition your body is in, it will benefit from Oxycise! Oxycise! is a concentrated type of aerobic exercise that builds and tones your muscles while delivering lots of extra oxygen to every cell in your body. By making Oxycise! part of your daily routine -- only 15 minutes, at least 5-6 days per week -- you will burn excess fat and create a stronger, leaner, more flexible, and more healthy body. We can't predict exactly how long it will take to achieve your goals -- or just when you will see obvious changes on the scale or tape measure-- some people really do see instant changes, but others don't. Some people experience internal changes first, such as lower body fat percentage, lower blood pressure, slower resting heart rate, or reduced LDL cholesterol levels. Customers also comment frequently about lower stress and better sleep. If your body has been subjected to lots of dieting and "abuse" in the past, it may take longer to respond. But don't give up -- with persistent effort we believe that every body will respond favorably to Oxycise! Jill Johnson has said, "Everyone who follows the Oxycise! lifestyle achieves results. You can choose how precisely you want to follow the methods and principles. For example, last summer I received reports from 3 women who had all achieved different results -- and each of them had put different amounts of focus and care into their efforts. Within the 3 months, one lost 11 pounds, one lost 25 pounds, one lost 40 pounds! Each of them were excited, because they went at their own rate. The decision is up to you." To maximize your own results we recommend that you do the workouts very consistently, drink lots of water, and follow a healthy eating plan -- but don't "diet"! If you deprive your body of the calories it needs, your efforts to lose weight may "backfire" on you, resulting in "yo-yo" ups and downs -- that is, weight loss followed by increasing gains. Many people will experience some increase in muscle mass when they start Oxycise! So they may see a gain of a few pounds on the scale after doing Oxycise! for some time. An increase in muscle is a positive change (the more muscle you have, the more calories your body has to burn), but most people get discouraged if they don't see the scale go down -- and especially so if they happen to see it go up! It's normal for your weight to fluctuate up and down by several pounds every day. Your weight can be affected by your menstrual cycle, what time you ate dinner last night, and many other factors. So we recommend that you weigh yourself every day in order to be aware of these normal "ups and downs." Measure carefully so your results are consistent. Jill gives tips and guidelines for accurate measuring in her booklet, "Chart Your Success". (See http://www.oxycise.com/store/catalog.htm ) You may also wish to monitor your body fat percentage. Most health clubs and gyms will test your body fat percentage for free. Jill recommends re-testing it every month or two. Jill says it is quite common to have individuals lose 3-4% body fat in the first month. A loss of 5-10% by the second month is very attainable through consistent, diligent effort in following the Oxycise! program. If you are using lots of air in your breathing and really working your muscles, you should FEEL a difference in your body right away. The first thing most people report is an increase in their energy level and improved feelings of well-being. Many customers report that they are able to accomplish much more during the day because they feel so "revved" up. After a week or two of Oxycise! your muscles should definitely feel stronger and harder. You may start to notice changes in the way your clothes are fitting, even if you don't see a change on the scale. But...beware of "ups and downs" and don't let them steer you "off course"! It's very common to experience temporary swelling, fluid retention and, as mentioned earlier, fluctuations in weight and measurements. They're just a normal part of the journey as your body makes changes and adjustments. An interesting phenomenon that has been reported by some customers is that the fat deposits on their bodies became softer and sometimes "lumpier" as they started doing Oxycise! -- but that these areas gradually became nice and smooth as more and more fat disappeared. So don't be alarmed if you notice this happening. It may be caused by fat deposits being burned off, layer by layer -- we don't really know. The best advice we can give is, "Keep Breathin' ! " Stay "on course" and do the workouts consistently and faithfully and you will eventually achieve your own body's ideal weight and fitness level. But even after you have "arrived" at your weight loss goals, you should continue to make Oxycise! part of your healthy new lifestyle. By doing so you will maintain your body's oxygen level, energy and firmness. You're on the "Road to Success" -- enjoy the journey! Happy Breathing, Julie Oxycise! staff This message has been edited.
