Okay..I am just wondering...anyone who has had any inch loss or weight loss who hasn't done perfectly with diet? I can do really well for a couple of days...then I just mess up...embarrassing but true. So I guess I"m hoping that this may still have some kind of impact despite my unperfected ways. Anybody? Overall, I do really well and most people would lose on what I eat...BUT then I think I go into rebel mode and feel deprived and eat too much raw almond butter or something...like we are talking way beyond normal earthling portions!?!?!
Love to hear any feedback on that.
Thanks,
GMS

Hi gms,

After my recent return to O after literal years away from it, I noticed an initial response without any real changes in my food/water. My face, abs, upper arms, stress level, bp/asthma, and overall sense of well-being definitely improved, but it was only after I began incorporating a healthier diet and increased my water intake, that any further results were dramatically maximized. I'm far from perfect, but I make an effort to watch my portions and fat content/'bad' carbs--I just take it a day at a time. But I'm like that little girl with the curl; when I'm good I'm very good, but when I'm bad....

I look at it this way; doing O without committing to other life-long/healthy choices, is sort of like putting clean curtains on dirty windows--It's a start, but one can always do more--Jill has a wonderful book, "Fuel for Success" where she discusses the importance of Oxygen-rich food--Any amount of change in that area will only help you achieve your fitness goals that much quicker, and assist in maintaining those positive changes your entire life.

And in my opinion, there are worse things to overindulge in than raw almond butter, so I'd say you're doing alot better than you think you are Smile

Hope that helps,
Love,
Helene

GMS.... I'm one of those folks who, given free rein, can eat myself blue in the face! I don't necessarily eat because I'm hungry, but because I enjoy eating. That said, I believe in portion control. However, my body WILL kick in to that "starvation mode" and refuse to give up pounds or inches if I deprive myself. That's why I always let myself have at least one day a week I don't count my calories (and often more days than that). When I had my greatest success with losses, I was staying around 1400 calories a day (eating whatever I wanted within those calories....) five days a week and taking the weekends off. You can read about my success on page 17 of the "Smiles of Success".

Hey,
Well Helene, thank you for your response...I am really looking at myself and have noticed I can lose hope fast and THAT is what made me turn back so many times before from my goal. SO I thought I'd just write a fear I was having to get some feedback...so it meant a lot that you responded. I REALLY understand the little girl with the curl...Smile I remember being mesmerized with that story as a child...I was surprised that those two traits could be so extreme in one person..then I grew up and found it was in me as well Smile..in the food arena!

And Kelly..that is so cool you pointed the smiles of success for us...I will find myself taking note of what you say as you definitely have credibility with me!...over what period of time did you lose the 65 lbs.? That is amazing...admiration I do have !!!

Its so wonderful to get responses because it does, indeed, really help...thanks Kelly and Helene!
Love,
GMS

The 65 pound loss was over the space of one year. I noticed when I looked at the smiles page today that they had deleted some of the first part of my testimonial (where I think I mentioned how many calories, etc.). Yeah, well... It originally had the info I sent along with the middle picture which was taken after about 8 or 9 months. The picture on the far right was a year later.

GMS, I do best when I am also following Weight Watchers (at home) but I still have some progres with just the O by itself. Hang in there. It sounds like you are doing great!
