I am hoping that somebody might be able to figure this on out for me. I have been doing O off and on for 2 years now. When done consistently I am please with the results but I find it hard to stick with because the muscles in my chest ache--It's not a heart attack ache but more like the muscles on my sternum and under my bra line. I have read every message board trying to find any insight. Am I doing something wrong? Help.......

Thanks for anything you can offer.

Kristina,

I know what you mean. I sometimes get that if I try to breathe too deeply or with too much gusto. Sort of like what they call a costochondritis type pain which is really just strained muscles. It can hurt and can sometimes take a while to go away.

Perhaps you need to not do too much gusto with your breathing. I know they say the more gusto the better but if you are straining yourself then you will do more harm than good probably.

Good luck.

Hello! I've never experienced this chest pain with O, but often have leg muscle pain. I find that it's usually because my body is low on magnesium or calcium, or both. I would wonder if you could try taking some bromelain from the health food store. It's an extract from pineapple, and it helps with muscle soreness. Just a thought. I hope you find something that helps!

Your probably trying to hard. Relax you entire body when you take in air. I know I get a lot more when I relax. You can also get neck pain too. Just relax. Remember the main goal is to get as much oxygen in as possible. For me, relaxing my body actually allows more air to flow in. Listen to your body. Smile

When I was learning how to breathe efficiently instead of sitting / standing to do the tape I actually lay down in torpedo fashion and did it that way. I went back to the regular way of following the program and if I was too up tight to relax properly I lay down again until I got the hang of it. Do it the way it feels best to you, it doesn't matter if you sit or stand or lie down ~ just do it! lol
