I made up a position as a substitute for some of the ones I prefer not to do, and it has become one of my favorites! (Disclaimer--this is NOT an official Oxycise position, UNLESS it exists--unknown to me--in an Oxy video I don't have.)

O.K., here it is, the "Modified Lunge":

Stand up straight behind your chair with your hands on the back of the chair providing support.
Move your right foot back approximately a yard (your left knee will be slightly bent and your hips are straight forward). Find the position that provides the stretch you want, with right foot either flat on the floor or heel up.
Now do the Oxybreath four times.
Repeat with the other leg.
Enjoy!

That almost sounds to me like the modified 'back leg extension' from the level 1 workout/body positions demonstration.

Good for you in creating a new position you enjoy doing!

Hi, Heleen--

Your post reminded me of how long it's been since I looked at Level 1...like years! I have been pretty caught up in Levels 2, 4, and Abs/Upper Body for the most part. It would probably be really good to go back to an old, familiar friend.

I couldn't find the position you're talking about, but this position reminds me of the Bun Tuck, except that your weight is distributed equally between both legs instead of totally on the front leg. Also, the foot is touching the floor. I like to have my foot flat, but a person could also just do a toe touch.

This really stretches the back of the calf and the front of your leg, all the way up through the abdomen, with a cool bun tuck. Love it!

Anyone else come up with a new position, or a fun modification of an old favorite? Let us know!

You're right, Phyllis; it is the bun tuck; I was thinking of the diagonal...

This sounds like the Lunge that is in L3. I really like it, too!
