I have just started back with my Oxycise tapes in hopes to stick with it long enough to see some results. When Jill is working through the routine, she mentions "scoop your tummy". Is this done on the inhale or the exhale? To me is feels right on the exhale. Am I doing it right? Thanks, Sandra

Hi Sandra and welcome!
You should inhale completely with tummy relaxed, then pull in your tummy for the sniffs, exhale, and puffs. Then relax your tummy again for the inhale and repeat. Hi Sandra,
Shari is correct. You should scoop your tummy starting at the 3 sniffs and keep it tight throughout the exhale and 3 puffs out. Remember that powerful breathing combined with real muscle work will make your workouts most effective. So be sure to really flex and contract your abdominal muscles with each breath! Really tighten up your stomach after the initial inhale and exhale with resistance (pretend you are blowing out through a straw). You should really feel your stomach contracting on the exhale. One tip is to pretend that you are putting on a really tight pair of jeans and that will help you to really draw your stomach up and in. If you have any other questions about the breathing technique, please feel free to email info@oxycise.com for a copy of the Oxycise! Breathing Tips. Good luck to you! Kirstine Oxycise! Staff |
