Please say so if this is too off topic. What is everyone doing for clothes while they are losing? I cannot afford new a wardrobe so I'll be taking in some of my things. I have one pair of pants that my 15 yr old daughter is ashamed of-it is so loose!
I might wait awhile & buy some stuff, as for now I'm taking in the waistbands-woohoo!!

I shouldn't be proud of this but, I saved all my "thinner" clothes because I couldn't bear to give them away. I have been in this position before and as I get rid of the weight, I get rid of the "fat" clothes. That way, I can't look back and say "well, if I gain weight, at least I have clothes to wear". I have enough clothes to keep me going until I am very near my goal. My husband will tell you that! I take up two of the closets in our house and there are more clothes packed away in the basement.

I must say that I feel buying new clothing now and then is a great reward for reaching smaller goals and it will keep you clothed throughout your weight loss process. Just buy stuff you can easily alter if you don't want to be at the store every week.

Shelby, you might try investing in a couple/few skirts or pants with drawstring waistbands--even visit a nice consignment store for affordable bargains. Slightly oversized tees and shirts that "hang" over waistbands (on the outside instead of being tucked in) are options too. Definitely go with elastic waists at the least during your transition and your clothes will "decrease" with you.

Well, I have a ton of jeans that should last me until I get down to 12, (I'd love to get to a 10, but got rid of those jeans a long time ago!) but for shirts and some other stuff I usually get some stuff at thrift stores. I don't see the point of wasting a bunch of money on clothes I hope I wont be wearing for long! Smile That is just my opinion though!
