Hi Everyone!

I know I shouldn't need encouragement to get started or a pen pal to keep me accountable as I have done Oxycise before, but I am needing a good swift kick to my behind to get me going.
I did Oxycise 8 years ago when I was 19. I lost a lot of weight and felt the best I had every felt. I lost more then 40lbs!
Over the years I have put on pounds from medication I had to take and 4 years ago I was in an accident and I am still dealing with the effects of it and not being able to do a whole lot in the exercise department. 16 months ago I had a beautiful baby girl and now I am at the highest weight I have ever been and need to lose more then 80lbs to get back to where I was 8 years ago.
My husband and I want another child but doctors are saying I need to lose weight and feeling horrible from the accident means I don't get off the couch very often.
I know what Oxycise can do, I was a success story at one point, I want to get there again, but I need a partner to do it with as I tend to bail when it gets hard or I don't see enough weight loss for me. I feel like I have so far to go this time that I it feels too overwhelming.

If you are just starting off and want to be an oxycise pen pal please let me know...or if you are a veteran and are good at giving encouragement and kicks to do better, I'd love to hear from you!

I look forward to getting to know everyone!

Shelli

Hi Shelli!

Welcome to the board, and welcome back to Oxycise! You can do it, and the ladies here are wonderful, so join right in with the group!!!

I will email with you, if that's really what you prefer. susannaok7@hotmail.com I guess you'd call me a veteran...and sometimes I need encouragement, too. Smile

Hi Shelli! Welcome back to Oxycise! You know what it can do for you.... now we just need to help you stick with it!!

Susanna is better than I am about e-mailing, but I'll certainly help pass out kicks (and receive them when necessary, too!) if you'll post in the D2L (determined to lose) thread each day. Posting there is really what's kept me accountable for the past 7+ years.

Hope to see you posting with us!

I'm not great about emailing either, but I just wanted to encourage you, Shelli. I started out with 105 pounds to lose about 2 months ago and I still have more to lose than you do. LOL. It can seem overwhelming when the final goal seems so far away. That's why I've set lots of little mini goals to celebrate along the way.

The other day, I looked in the mirror after a really vigorous workout, feeling all sore, and said, "Sheesh, I'm fat! This is going to take forever." But I realized right away that that kind of negative self-talk was going to sabotage me. So, I looked at myself again and acknowledged my body for continuing to take care of me and work for me even though I've been abusing and misusing it for years. I promised it I was going to give it the care it deserves from now on and work at lightening it's load.

So now I spend time every day consciously taking joy in the fact that I AM taking care of it and keeping my promise! Staying in the moment and focusing on what I AM doing TODAY instead of what I haven't accomplished yet helps me to keep on keeping on. Smile

Hang in there Shelli. You're doing a great thing!!

SmileHi Shelli

EmBe said it all so beautifully. I couldn't add more to that right now.

I sent you a private message. Let me know if you received it.

Hi Shelli,

I'm happy to exchange emails with you, if you like.

I have recently re-started O as well, into my second week now, and I feel great, but am worried I will lose focus like I have in the past.

G.

Hi Shelli!

Welcome back to Oxycise and congratulations on your beautiful daughter!

I have about 117 pounds to lose. I have been off and on with Oxycise, but Susanna always gives me a kick to get back on track if I fall off (Thanks Susanna). I'll be happy to exchange E-mails with you. It's sturpen41@yahoo.com.

Please also join us on the D2L thread. It's a great place for support.
