Hi, My name is Cindy. When I saw the First article on the shelves last week, I remembered that I have the Oxycise book on my own bookshelf and didn't really try it long enough last time. I really believe in the science of breathing, but have problems with sticking to things. But I thought I'd give it another try.

Yesterday I did the day 1 workout from the book. I have two questions for you experts. It took me over 30 minutes to complete the workout, and I was wondering how many of you actually complete it in 15 minutes, and do you think it's only possible to do it in 15 minutes if you're following the pace from the videos?

My second question is whether others had chest pain after doing it in the beginning. I had chest pain all day yesterday, I thought it was gas, but it's still here somewhat this morning. Can you overstrain your lungs or some other nearby muscle? Or can the exercises cause you to swallow air and get gas?

Thanks!

Hi Cindy!
I ordered the 'O' intor package and should be receiving it shortly. I may be able to answer one of your questions at least. I find that when I am unfamiliar with a new workout routine, it takes me twice the time to get it done. Once I've done it a few times, I will finish it in the time I am supposed too. If you are 'O'ing everyday, you will find that you are finishing in the 15min. it's supposed to take. Now, I don't know about the chest pain. I would talk to your doctor. Is it possible that you are overexerting yourself? Could you be doing the breaths too hard and forcefully? I suppose you could swallow air and get gas but talk to a doc, okay?

Hi CindyLou! Welcome to the message board. Yes...it can definitely take longer to do the workout at first. I had to work up to being able to do it in 15-20 minutes.

As for your other question, Luv made some good suggestions. Is it hurting as in sore muscles? I'm not sure what to tell you....

Hello CindyLou,

Welcome. Like LuvMy2Babies, I'm waiting for my order but for the last couple of weeks I've been practicing Julie's breathing tips posted under newsletters and announcements.

I think like anything else, with practice, it will become more routine. The first week I didn't really have chest pains but my heart would kind of jump once in a while. I don't know if it was because it was getting oxygen like it hadn't before, and I didn't bother going to the doctor. It has since stopped. I would agree that it would be possible to over exert but if it continues definitely talk to your doctor.

Good to have you here. Keep us posted.

Hi Cindy, and Welcome! I have been doing the 15 minute routine for almost two weeks now. 6 times per week... Smile You can do the thirty positions in 15 minutes quite easily. But when you watch the video it keeps the pace up for you. The first four or five times I had a hard time keeping up and felt it was moving a little fast. As I have become more comfortable with the breathing technique, I have felt good going at the pace that is set. My lungs felt a little tender at first, I am sure they were in shock! Wink I am now reading the book, I know it is backwards but I bought a couple of sets of the oxycise tapes and books for pretty cheap on ebay . The tape arrived first, and I couldn't wait to get going. I am loving it and feel more energized every day. I am also starting to feel some muscle definition. I am a big fan so far! Good Luck to you, and hang in there...It WILL BE WORTH IT.
