I have recently started oxycising. Today is my third day and although I feel fabulous and have already lost an inch around my waist I have gained 2 lbs. Can anyone relate to my experience. By the way thanks for your warm welcome. This seems like a very nice bb with a lot of supportive people.

I think I've read about someone having the same thing happen...do try and remember that muscle weighs more than fat. The most important thing should not be what the scale reads (we've become such slaves to that silly old scale!) but how you feel and how your clothes are fitting. Keep going..I'm sure the weight and inches will catch up to you! You might try reading the questions section and see if any old posts pertain to this.

Good luck!

When I did Oxcyise! back in 1999, I dropped 14" and dropped from a size 12 to a size 8. Although I looked like I had lost at least 10 pounds, my scales said otherwise, with only a four-pound loss (which was very hard to get used to, by the way). The best way to explain it is that one pound of fat weighs the same as one pound of muscle, but one pound of fat takes up five times the volume or space as one pound of muscle (e.g. imagine a pound of sand versus a pound of feathers and how much room each takes up).

The good news too is that muscle burns fat faster than fat burns fat. Fat is an efficient storage tissue. It is slow to burn because it might be needed in emergencies (famine or illness). The more muscular a body is, the faster its metabolism--it burns fat faster at all times, not just during exercise.

Apparently, aerobic (meaning "with oxygen") activity is the only kind of exercise which burns fat. It also keeps the heart healthy by increasing the ability to use oxygen ("aerobic capacity"), helps keep the body fat and "bad" cholesterol count low, improves muscular endurance, and decreases the risk of cardiovascular problems. Oxycise! is a great aerobic activity!

So the bottom line is, you're on your way to a new leaner you! We all are! Stick with Oxycise! consistently (daily is best) and you will see yourself slimming and toning and the fat melting away...the scales eventually will begin to show a lighter you. Judge your success by how good you feel inside and out and how your clothes look and feel. Just don't give up! Come here for lots of support and encouragement and if you'd like, join us on the D2L O!Pals thread under the Accountability section. Lots of great people post here!
