Hello O-buddies!

I read this article online recently, about how not getting enough sleep affects our appetite. It just dawned on me last night, that I've been proving this myself quite often! Yesterday and the day before, I just couldn't seem to keep my hands off of food, and it wasn't the good-for-me variety that I was reaching for. Last night, I went to bed much earlier, and today I haven't had nearly as much trouble. Just thought I'd share this with you, and see if anyone else has experienced this.

That's really interesting, Susanna. I had read what they discussed in that second survey somewhere else, too. I totally believe it! I've always been able to do better with my weight when I'm getting the proper amount of sleep. I'm one of those folks who really needs at least 8 hours a night. Even then, I do better if I don't have to get up while it's still dark (not an option in the winter at this point in life).

Thanks for sharing this with us!

I agree with the sleeping/eating discussion. I can get to sleep but my senior dog who has a touchy bladder (poor old girl) is back to asking to go out around 3 ayem & frequently 5 ayem and 7 ayem. She is 12 and aks nothing of us but to feed her, water her, walk her and love her which we do happily because we love her to bits.

Knowing this effects my eating the next day has been a huge help in making mindful decisions about mindless eating -----> not an easy thing to do! lol

Thankyou for posting this information it was most gratefully received! Smile Big Grin Smile

Ciao ciao,
Nance

Hello! I'm bringing this post back up to the top because I think it's important that we know that when we don't get enough sleep, we eat more! I've proven this over and over!!!

The old link doesn't work anymore, in the original post, but this link tells about a study on this. There are several other articles about it, too.

One thing that the recent medical treatments for our daughter has uncovered is our need for calcium to prevent headaches and to make us sleep better. Our practioner claims that only calcium lactate really does us much good, and it's kind of hard to find, but it can be found! I haven't proven this for myself yet, but my DD IS sleeping better since she's been on the maximum dose of calcium for almost one month now.

So get your sleep ladies, one way or another!!!

SmileI know when i've had enough sleep compared to a sleepless night. i eat everything in sight when I'm tired or stressed. Not good.

We all need calcium for strong bones too. Lots of good reasons to take the calcium. Thanks for the heads up Susanna.
