I noticed something awhile back while I was doing the commuter exercise, and thought some of you who've been doing Oxy for awhile (and others) might benefit from this. I believe we don't always appreciate how much our lung capacity has expanded from doing Oxy.

What I caught myself doing mostly during the exhale (and sometimes during the inhale) is not quite getting ALL the air in or out. It was as though I was "saving" the rest of the air for the sniffs or puffs. So, for example, I would ex-h-a-l-e and then do the puffs before all the air was out! I have found that I need to actually mentally count to four to get it all in and out.

Hope this is helpful. For some reason, this is primarily an issue during the commuter exercise, maybe because I am a little distracted with avoiding hitting the cars around me!

Thanks for mentioning this, Phyllis. I'm sure I don't always do it right.
I've also been trying to remember to SMILE on the inhale, and keep that smile going during the exhale, so my lips are flatter. It's hard for me to do it right every time, so I really have to concentrate on it.
One thing about it, we can always tweak things to make O work a little better for us!

Thanks for the reminder about doing O correctly....I am paying more attention and finding that I was saving some air to do the puffs , also. And while I remembered to smile at the beginning, I was not at the end of each breath Roll Eyes
