Hi Deb,
I did when I first started O, until I realized I was blowing out harder than I was breathing in. Make sure you are not doing the lift (pulling in your stomach, tilting your pelvis in and up and squeezing your bum) until after you take the initial big breath in. If you try to tighten before or during the initial breath, you won't get as much air in. Hope this helps. Just hang in there, it takes some practice, but it is worth the effort. Hello everyone on this very snowy day in Nebraska.
Hi deb66...I don't think you are supposed to actually hold your breath. You are always either taking it in with the one long one and 3 small ones and then immediatly let it out..again the one big one and three small ones. I hope I am giving this to you right. Does anyone else out ther have any ideas on this? I did Level 1 and I am going to do it again, since I am basically "house bound" today. Need to move and this kind of a day makes it sooo easy to just "vege out". Ruth |

Hi...I am new to this...I just bought a First magazine yesterday and read the article. It looks amazing. I was doing the simple breathing technique in the mag. and to tell you the truth..even just that makes you feel good..But i do feel dizzy this morning doing it. I dont have any of the videos yet. Do they give you more breathing techniques. and if i stuck to this one breathing method" would that be enough to see results. does anyone know..
thanks

Hi Misty,
Welcome to Oxycise! Maybe you are getting too dizzy b/c you have to empty of a system. If you continue to get dizzy first maybe try to do it after at least having a slice of toast or something in the morning or you may just be dizzy now b/c your body is not used to taking in that much oxygen and once you stick to it your body will regulate with all the extra oxygen you are taking in. I think you will experience better toning results with the video because they give you different exercise postions for different parts of the body to do with each breathing exercise. You really started to feel pretty toned right away! Lin |

Thanks Lin..
I just read the article yesteday...and i thought i would try the simple breathing first before i "delved " into the video, because i am really bad about buying stuff like that..and not doing it.. I did have a bite to et..i think i am trying the breathing excercise too much maybe..thats why I am dizzy.. I was thinking on trying the simplebreathing for a week or two before buying the video...but honestly..in two days...or a day and a half..of trying the simple breathing..i can tell a difference..just in the way I feel.. Thanks for your comment, I really appreciate it |

Hi Everyone! I am new to O and to this site. I have been doing level one for about six days now. The first days of trying this breathing, I was feeling a little dizzy. Then I read somewhere that if I felt dizzy, then I may not be exhaling completely before inhaling. I am guessing that you would still have carbon dioxide in your lungs before you started a new breath. I also heard it suggested that maybe it was due to trying to go too fast. Anyway, I am focusing more on complete breaths, both in and out. It is helping a lot! I find it amazing how much better I feel just to be getting some real oxygen in my system!!

Hi deb66 and everyone!
I did a search and came across this post by Julie G. from Oxycise!: "Occasional dizziness --and yawning-- are actually common when you are first learning how to do the Oxycise! Basic Breath. They are probably caused by imbalanced inhales and exhales. "For dizziness, focus on putting more power and air into your exhales. Please see the 'Breathing Tips' (under 'Announcements') for extra suggestions." Hope that helps. Susan R. |
