Your message kind of tore at my heart. I have children your age- and if I were nearby I would give you anything you need. But I'm so far, I can't physically give you anything.

BUT-----I think you can still get started RIGHT NOW without having any books or tapes. The magic of oxycise is in the breath, not the specific stretches and exercises. The breath brings in tons of oxygen, which burns fat. The stretches just tone things up. You can learn how to do the breath with info right here on the website. Go to the home page. On the left side of the page, look almost to the bottom of the page and click on "Media Information". On that page click on "Feature Articles". Then click on the first article-"First For Women". There Jill tells how to do the breath with pictures!

Now, Start practicing the breaths. Here on the message page, at the "Announcement" section, read the "breathing tips" to understand better how to do it. Don't get discouraged! Just keep practicing! 4 complete breaths is the same as one "rep"- so 30 reps a day is 120 breaths. Try to work up to 30 reps or 120 breaths a day.

I'm sure you have done some stretching in gym classes in school. Start adding stretches with the breaths - just hold the stretch during the rep (4 breaths). The stretches will help tone up your muscles. Don't force your body to do any stretches that are uncomforable.

That should get you started until you can figure out how to obtain the book or tape. I hope this isn't too confusing- Just write again if you have any questions. And post messages at the line that says "Daily Support and Accountability". Good Luck! Don't give up!

Hi Frenchie,
Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner. I live in France as well. Where are you at? I think the advice given you is just what you need to get started.

Bon courage!

Frenchie...

I'll see what I can do for you. I know someone at my husband's job that may be able to copy the introduction tape for you. If you give me your email address, we can talk, and if I can get it done, you can give me your address in France. I can't promise 100% that I can do this, but I'll sure try.

I have been overweight all my life, and I SO wish that I had Oxycise! and this website back when I was 16. (I'm 36 now). The people here are wonderful, and the program is great. I have 140 pounds to lose and I've lost approximately half of that since February 24, 2003. So, it does work.

Good luck to you...keep reading the website.

Hi Frenchie!

It looks like you've gotten some good advice on here. I didn't realize until Jennifer told you that there was a place on here that had pictures showing any of the positions.

I think she's right, though....if you'll read some of the breathing tips that Julie has posted, you'll be able to do some breathing on your own.

Keep in mind how important it is to eat a proper diet (in sensible portions).

I hope you'll keep posting with us for support and encouragement!

Kelly

Hi Frenchie! This is a great message board with such nice, supportive members! I don't post very often but I do read it at least once a day.

I, too, wish I had known about this when I was 16 (I'm 24 now) because I've been overweight almost all my life. Anything I did try was usually too long of a workout. I can't do any one workout more than about 40 minutes because I get bored during it and start to dread doing it and give up completely. So its really great that Oxycise is only 20 minutes. And it keeps me motivated to come to the message board and see how everyone else is doing, etc.

Good luck! I hope you love it!

Caroline

I also agree with what everyone else said. I wish you the best sweetie. I read the panic and frustration in your words. You sound like me when I was your age.(now 46)
One thing though Frenchie I want to remind you of is to practise the breathing DAILY. The only way it works is to do it. Be consistant daily.
Have fun with it sweetie and keep us informed on how your doing ok?

Until next time...
