I have read in a few places that the new big thing is green tea to promote a healthy metabolism and encourage fat burning. There is no info that I can find, however, that gives details on how to take it (in what form, how much, when, etc.).
Does anyone have any info on it, that they would like to share? I can't find anything on the internet. Dr. Phil recommends it, so I'm assuming it's safe. I asked this question on his advice link, and have not gotten a response, no surprise. Thanks, in advance! Donna |

I have an article here in front of me from "Woman's World" about tea. Here is a few of the things it says. "Despite all the attention green tea gets, black tea is made from the exact same plant. That means you get the exact same health benefits, no matter which one you like best." "Dieters who drink tea 30 minutes before each meal lose twice as much weight as those who go tea-free, according to new French reseach." "Tea also boosts brain levels of norepinephrine, a protein that keeps your metabolic rate high, so you burn more calorise even without exercise." "Black or green tea is one of the single best cancer fighters you can put in your body. Drinking as little as two cups daily could literally save your life." "Drink up to five cups a day and your levels of atery-clogging cholesterol could plunge 11% in three weeks. But even at lower doses, its powerful phenols help keep arteries healthy and prevent the formation of dangerous blood clots." "You can double the amout of antioxidants in your cup just by dunking your tea bag up & down several times, instead of letting it steep slowly. Dunking the bag forces more water to flow though the crushed leaves, drawing more valuable nutrients into the cup." That is about all it says. I would think you could sweeten your tea with slenda or sweet-n-low if you can't drink it plain. That is what I do. I am a BIG tea drinker. I always have been even as a kid. The article didn't say anything about decaf. But that is what I drink. Hope this helps some. It seems I have also read about tea in the "Reader's Digest" a couple of months ago.
