Hi all,
Well, I did L1 this a.m., it does go a bit fast but that isn't my problem. My question is, and I hope I can word this right---when I am in a standing position and inhaling my lower belly, where all the fat is living, I can pull in on the inhale. Am I to pullit in as in "hold in your stomach"? When I exhale, I just let it out in a controled fashion, is that right? If so, then I am having a problem in the laying down positions.
I can't hold my stomach in on the inhale. I can inhale and expand my lower stomach like a balloon.
The stomach muscles are still working, is this correct? I guess my question is, on the inhales are you supposed to contract your lower stomach and hold it in? This raises the chest and I thought that was incorrect. So do I just in hale and exhale with just my lower stomach going in and out, and not do the traditional "hold in your stomach" move.
Did any of that make sense?
Thanks, Pa :confused

This is what works for me & I really looked close in mirror for you today.
- Breathe in-stomach expands
- 3 sniffs while pulling stomach in
- big exhale while using abs to push air out. The stomach is being pulled in
-3puffs out further contracting the abs & they are pulled in further.

Does this sound good to ya'll

plus pull up on the kegels for women!

ok I just got the video's and book last night but in reading the posts here this is what you are suppose to do...

1) Breath in Deep
2) then the step where they are talking about "holding in your stomach" to me is accually better described more like the action of coughing. Make yourself start to cough (don't cough though stop yourself right before you do) but think about what your body is doing automaticly it kind of tilts your pelvis in and contracts your ab muscles with almost explosive force.
3)Then take in 3 sniffs
And continue on with the rest of the steps.
Exhale and 3 small exhales

It takes some practice and I hope I'm doing it right but this example has helped me understand it a lot.

It's very important to relax your abdominal muscles when you inhale. Otherwise you won't be able to take in much air. So relax on the inhale, breathe in deeply, THEN "Lift, tuck and tighten" as you do the 3 sniffs, exhale, and 3 puffs.

I find it easier to relax my abs if I also relax all my other muscles too. So I stay in whatever body position I am doing, but ease up on the flexing and tightening as I inhale. Then I re-tighten everything at the end of the inhale.

Hope that helps!
