Hi there! I used to be a big-time Oxyciser way back when, but I haven't been here in a long time. I know it works and made me feel great when I stuck to it, but I had lots of trouble with the shoulders and neck pains and stiffness and could never get that under control. Anyway, I've been doing weight training and walking for cardio every other day, but I hate walking on the treadmill even for 15 minutes! Then I did a Denise Austin video - very basic for beginners and only 20 minutes and I was dying. It made me realize that my walking really wasn't doing me much good, as when I finished the Denise video I was so winded and sore in every muscle of my bod for 4 days! So I apparently need more cardio and that's when O came to mind. But I don't really want to have to do it every day. Does anyone do O every other day? IF so, please tell me how that works for ya. Thanks! (I posted this on the General board but thought it might fit here better)

Well, I do O every day 2x a day, so I can't help you there. But, it is great as a cardio workout. My dr. is amazed that I'm losing inches and weight just from doing this breathing program. I showed him the book a few months ago. Also, I've noticed that when I do my Yoga or Pilates or Kickboxing-which is not often anymore(except yoga) I do have better stamina and breath control. ALso. I know I'm only 24 years old but I am a smoker and have smoked a pack a day since I was 16. That also amazes my dr. I have to see him every 3 months b/c of some meds that I take and he always checks my lungs and heartbeat during the visit. I even had a chest x-ray earlier this year b/c I thought I had pnemonia and my dr was shocked b/c my lungs always sound clear and from the x-ray he said he swears I'm lying to him about being a smoker. My lungs are clean. O works miracles. It's not just for inch and weight loss, but all over health. Now, I KNOW I'M GOING TO GET A MILLION POSTS TELLING ME TO QUIT SMOKING AND DON'T USE O AS AN EXCUSE TO BE ABLE TO SMOKE. I'm not planning on quitting anytime soon, so please, save your breath for your workout. I'm just giving my own as well as my dr's input on this post.
