It's winter here in Canada and with all the windows being closed and heat being on 24/7 I find it stuffy in here and my allergies act up like crazy.

I wake up early to do O before work but I find that I usually have a nostril that's plugged and even though I blow my nose nothing comes out (sorry, that sounds gross!) so its hard to really get a nice deep breath in. Does anyone have any suggestions?

When this happens to me, I just use my mouth! Forget the nose. The mouth works fine. Wink

A lot of times I have a clogged nostril (or both) when I first get up (esp. in the winter when the heat is on). I've found that using saline spray helps a lot. It's helps to moisten and loosen things (sorry...I'm being gross, too!) so you can blow your nose productively. My sinuses tend to bleed in the winter and the saline spray helps with that, also.

don't use your mouth alot. I did that before when i was sick and it made it worse. Got an even worse sore throat. I highly reccomend what Kelly said with the spray. that should clear it up a bit. Or try peppermint oil. My family always uses that for stuffy noses.

I wanted to thank you for your suggestion on the saline spray, its worked wonders! I can finally breathe in the morning.

I've just started back on O and have been faithfully doing it every morning for 2 weeks and I feel so good when I do it. I have osteoarthritis of the knees and spine, fibromyalgia and a thyroid condition. We have a blizzard just about to start here and my fibromyalgia flare up (which usually happens with weather change) is minimal. What a nice surprise. Smile
