I have a hiatel hernia and just started O'ing again a few days ago. Now I'm noticing a flare up of some of my symptoms. It could be diet-related or the fact that I'm going through a lot of stress right now. But, could O be aggravating it? I'm going to see my doctor tomorrow. Maybe I'm doing the "tummy tightening" too hard after the first breath?

Oops. I spelled it wrong. It should be hiatal. Duh.

Welcome back to the board, Janice! I have no idea if O would be aggravating your hernia, but I would suggest that you ease into it a little bit gradually, since there is a problem. Did your dr. have an idea on this? I really think that there couldn't be a more gentle way to exercise than Oxycise! I hope you feel better soon!

I demonstrated the breathing method to my chiropractor and he doesn't think that's causing my discomfort. He suggested some alterations to my diet and sleeping position and that, along with spinal manipulation, seems to have done the trick. I am happily O'ing again with very little discomfort.
