Hey guys, doing well with O and seeing changes on the tape measure and mirror, but I still and having issues with my diet. Now, I know that Jill has the whole Fuel Your Success and lots of people follow that and that's great. But, there are so many diets out there and I honestly think it's for a reason: Because no matter what science has to say about it-One Diet Does Not Fit All. Now, in the past I've done weight watchers, low carb, high card, totally vegan, fasts. Right now I'm just keeping an eye on what I eat but the only diet I ever really lost weight on and felt good on was a combo of Atkins and Somersizing. I like to go how my body feels and the other day I picked up a book called The Hampton Diet. I had heard a lot about it and honestly I only bought it because it was on a shelf at the dollar store! Don't judge the book b.c it was at the dollar storeSmile A lot of overstocked books whind up there. Anyway, I've been reading it and it's a form of low-carb diet but way not as severe as atkins or even South beach. It seems like it's really healthy, filled with fruits and veggies and lean meats along with complex carbs (brown rice, etc.) along the way. I was just wondering if anyone has tried this particular diet and if so, has anyone had any good results. I would really like to get back on an actual diet in conjunction with my O to boost my results. I know years ago when I was doing the low carb thing along with O I got results 2 to 3 times faster. And..stupidly...I stopped OxysizingFrown So I'm back to square one. The only thing I don't like about Suzzane Somers program (somersizing) in case you're wondering why i don't go back to that is b.c it is sort of low carb but is mostly about food combining. I love her recipes, still have her books and still cook the foods b.c they are amazing but the food combing thing just doesn't sound realistic to me. She thinks that dipping bread in olive oil is bad. Carbs should not be eaten with proteins or fats. But, scientific research has proven that when you eat fats and fiber with carbs, it slows the realease of the carbs into your bloodstream so you won't store them as fat. She says if you don't properly combine each meal the whole darn thing gets stored as fat. Help!!! Once again it's called The Hamptons Diet. Anyone?

Jonathan, I think you summed it up perfectly when you said "one diet does not fit all"! Personally, I believe in changing one's diet rather than dieting. I'm also a firm believer in portion control. Calories in vs. calories burned.

You'll get a lot of varying opinion here, but they're all just that: opinions. I think you have to find what works best for you and stick with it. I do believe consistency is a key, both in Oxycise! and eating.

As for the Hamptons Diet....I'm not familiar with that one.

Hello. Just thought I'd add my 2 cents.

I googled the Hampton's Diet, and found that it's written by a dr. that was associated with the Atkins plan. Anyway, if it's a good fit for you, go for it, Jonathan!

As far as combining carbs and protein, my naturopath says we really need to slow the carbs down with protein. She suggested that I eat almonds with my smoothie, for instance. Makes sense to me, and I feel better, too. Smile

I had good results with the Change One plan from Reader's Digest, and it was mostly about portion sizes and the kinds of food to eat, such as one fruit, one grain, and one dairy for breakfast. I've outlined it on the board here, under "Newsletters & Announcements" if you're interested in checking it out.

Anyway, eat the way you need to to feel good!!! I wish you wonderful results!!!

Smile Susanna

Hi, Here's an inspiring story of a man who lost a lot of weight and how he did it. Take a look at his story!

http://forum.lowcarber.org/showthread.php?t=191870

It's kind of long, but worth reading, and has a lot of before and after pictures. He seems to have modified Suzanne Somers' plan to fit him.

I am using fitday.com- it's a free website that keeps track of food, nutrition, exercise, calories eaten, calories burned.

Jennifer
