I started seriously doing oxycise about a month ago. Initially I was really pleased with pounds and inches dropping off - nothing drastic, gradual losses were enough of an achievement - but the past week I've noticed an increase in both weight and slightly on the inches, and it's quite depressing. I can understand plateaus, but it's frustrating to see what I lost come back! Has anyone else had this and overcome it, or have any words of wisdom?

Hi Nicole,
I don't think this is really unusual. We all fluctuate a lot, at different times and in different stages. Our bodies have to adjust and readjust, but I really think that if you just keep doing your workouts, you will come out of this. Did you see Kelly's post to you on the daily thread? I agree with what she said, and for myself, it's really helped to write down everything I eat, so that I'm really aware of the calories I'm consuming. If I hold it down to between 1300 and 1600 calories, I can lose consistently, and I think that's a reccomended amount for most women. Some women actually eat too little, and they don't lose either, because their bodies struggle to hang on to fat for survival. Anyway, please hang in there, and I hope things turn around for you soon! |

I am at a stand still on the gaining inches. How do you handle counting the calories? What works for you on the calorie count? It has ALWAYS been frustrating to me to count calories since I have to eat in the cafeteria at work, but I still watch what I eat. I don't know how much every little bit is to know how to count.
I want to get with the show...any advise???? Thanks, Hugs, Joyce L |
