I only did Oxycise for about the first 9 months, then added other stuff.

Kelly, did you find that you lost a lot of weight/inches just doing oxycise? And then when you added other programs, did you continue to lose at the same rate? Or did it slow down or speed up? I'm just curious. Right now I'm only doing Oxycise with the occasional walk or chase after my kids!

LeeAnn, I lost more weight when I was just Oxycising alone. This might be due to several factors, though. About a month after I started Oxycising regularly I decided to cut all meat out of my diet. (including chicken, fish, etc.) My kids still say this is what caused me to lose all my weight. However, during that time I was still eating all the eggs, cheese, bread, avacados, etc. that I wanted. Perhaps the reason my weight loss slowed down is because my body started adjusting to my routine. Or perhaps that is when I let some of the "wrong" foods slip back in to my diet on a more regular basis (potato chips, doritos, cheetos, desserts, etc.). I think that is why I started adding other things more often. I KNOW the reason I've gained in the past few months is because I've gotten totally out of control with my eating. I still don't eat any meat, but haven't given up all the junk.
Sorry I got so long-winded with my reply! I will say this: I think Oxycise is great and it has helped with my health in general (mental as well as physical) so I don't think I'll ever stop doing it. It's become part of my life now. Kelly |

Kelly, it's funny you say you quit eating meat. I did the same thing about a month and a half ago! I lost 2 lbs last week, but I don't know how well I'll do when I weigh in tomorrow! I've been eating a lot of bread and other carbs this week! I'm feeling kinda guilty! I'll try to do better next week. Maybe I should just weigh in on Saturday mornings. I don't do as well with food on the weekends. I just need to eat a bit better and keep doing O! So far I did it 6 times this week & I'll probably do O tonight too! (out of guilt for the junk I've been eating this week!)

I just lost 40 pounds over the past 5 months, and find that walking, along with O! is the key for me. I try to walk 4 miles every day!
Of course, this includes healthy food choices, protein (8-10 oz) fruit (2) veg (2-3) and very limited fats and carbs such as melba toast or 1/2 small potato, or 1/2 cu plain rice only. Occasional cheat was fat free pudding (70 cal). The walk seems to burn calories, tone legs and buttocks and give you a mental "life" from being in the outdoors. WHen the weather prohibits I use the treadmill (UGH!) or exercise bike. KEEP BREATHING!!! |
