Hi. I have been using Bodyflex for about a month, and I like it so far, so this morning, since my tape has gotten chewed up, I ordered the more advanced tape. But then tonight, I learned about Oxycise, read about the comparisons on the website (including how the holding my breath stops my metabolism, which scared me since I have 75 pounds to get rid of and need all I can get when it comes to my metabolism), saw how people have switched over from Bodyflex because they prefer Oxycise, and now I'm kicking myself for having just ordered a new Bodyflex video. I am wondering if anyone who has used both can tell me if I should just stick with Bodyflex or if I should order Oxycise too and then return whichever one I don't want?

Thanks!

Caroline

I have BD, LL, and O. I have not tried the oxycise yet, but from what I can see it is very different. I too, wanted to know what others have thought, but have not gotten a reply as of yet. I will give it a try too. It will be nice to mix it up at least. You can look on amazon and ebay and find the tapes for pretty cheap if yopu want to check it out. I also ordered the oxycise book, for just a few dollars. It hasn't arrived yet, so I am waiting to read it before I move on. But maybe if you get that, it will help you figure out if you ant to try it.

Hi! I have not used anything other than Oxycise. However, I know there have been some discussions on here comparing O and BF. If you'll look back through the topics in this section (Questions & Answers) and maybe the "General Discussion" section....you should find them.

I haven't tried anything other than Oxycise either, but I can tell you that Oxycise really works! I've been doing it since Jan. 17th, and I have lost 59 pounds and over 23 inches!!! It's easy on your body, and yet effective enough that it does make your muscles sore, though not so sore you can't keep going. All I can say is, give them both your best effort, and see which one works best for you. Or, if you want variety, do both. It sure won't hurt! We're all different, and like different things. I know that some of the ladies that used to post here switched to Body Flex, but last time I heard from one of them, she wasn't doing anything....so you know what results she's having. Frown
Oxycise has been a wonderful program for me! I hope you find that it works as well for you!!!

Thanks for all your replies. Everyone here seems to love Oxycise so I decided to order it. I figure I'll either send one back, alternate them so I don't get bored, or do each one each day to try to maximize results.

I appreciate your feedback and I hope you are all doing well.

Caroline

P.S. I really like this oxychat thing. Its really great that we can give/receive support and ask/answer questions.

Did you diet also, or just Oxycise. I do not diet well. I can do it for a short time, and then I get off track. I can lose by dieting alone. I have lost alot , but I can not stay on that as a life style. i am happy with my weight, but I have very large thighs and cellulite. If i would just lose the fat and cellulite (inches), I would be happy. I don't care about pounds at all. So back to my origional question, did you diet? and if so what type. Everyone has different versions of eating heathly too.

Diet...I hate that word and all the feelings it brings to mind! Roll Eyes
In the January issue of Reader's Digest, there was a brief outline of their Change One program for losing weight, and that's what I use. I needed a guideline to help me figure out how many calories I could consume, and things like portion size, and how many servings of which food groups, etc. It has worked very well for me, and I think it is something I can easily do for the rest of my life. I only eat things I really like, so I don't feel deprived. If you would like, I could email you an outline of the plan.
I have lots of cellulite also. In fact, it's been with me since my teen years! There have been "slim times" in my life, but the cellulite was still there. Frown Some of the ladies have posted information on body brushing to get rid of it. I've been doing that for over a month now, and I can't say I've seen much difference yet, but I know that some things just take lots of time. Anyway, you might go up to "General Discussion" and read their helpful advice under the topic "flabby gut".
For myself, I'm very pleased with how my body has responded to Oxycise. I've seen others lose weight and their skin looks saggy and old, but with Oxycise the skin gets toned and tightens up as you lose. I hope I can soon tell you that my cellulite is gone. Wink

Jen--
I have been doing Weight Watchers for the past couple months and that has been working well for me. I've lost about 18 1/2 pounds with WW plus some kind of exercise. I've tried it before and once I went, I gained back the weight because I completely abandoned my new good eating habits and exercise routines. So now I've come to the conclusion that I will be going to WW for the rest of my life because I need the meetings and I need to weigh in every week to keep me going (but you might not need that. Everyone is different), but that's fine with me.

I'm still waiting for my Oxycise video to come, which should come any day now, but I still read the posted messages and success stories so I don't lose my enthusiasm.

I use both bodyflex and oxycise. They seem to work well together. Like several people mentioned it is hard to do bodyflex when your stomach isn't empty so oxycise works very well. They are both wonderful as far as I am concerned. Deep breathing is the key to everything. I love them both!

I tried Body Flex back in 1998 for 3 weeks. I didn't like the holding the breath part. I always felt like I was going to pass out. I would see stars, etc. At that time, I was trying to get pregnant, too, and you're not supposed to do BF while pregnant, so I abandoned it altogether.

I did O! during my whole pregnancy 2001-2002 and only gained 4 pounds. It also got rid of my nausea.

So, basically, I like O! the best. Just my opinion! Wink

Wow! You only gained 4 pounds? That's impressive. My sisters are pregnant and one has gained 20 pounds (she's ready to go anytime now which is good because she looks like she's ready to explode) and my other sister has gained 12 pounds but still barely even looks pregnant. Was it that your legs, arms, etc. were firming up so much total weight gain was only 4 pounds?

I'm trying to use both right now because I still really like Bodyflex. I think it is a little easier but I think I'm also more convinced that Oxycise will help me more. Plus with my new Advanced Bodyflex video, it is so short that I feel like I've done nothing. I'm still getting used to the Oxycise breath. I don't think I'm doing the 3 sniffs right because I think its hard to do after just inhaling. I also tend to forget to do the pelvic tilt.

Yes, it was a combination of the fact that I was firming up a lot with O! and built lots of lean muscle mass, I ate well, and for some reason the baby would take all the food I put in my system and use it to grow, leaving me practically nothing.

This happened with my first pregnancy, too...I ate very well, but didn't do any exercise, and I lost 30 pounds because the baby took everything. Both babies weighed healthy 7 pounds 13 ounces. Weird, I know. But the doctors said that it does happen this way sometimes.

But, hey, whatever exercise you feel comfortable with...as the Nike ad says, "Just Do It!"

I have also used both systems. I like the bodyflex. I have asthma and it really helps me clear my airways & lungs. I like them both but I like the resistance bar that comes with bf.

Susanna, This is the first time I heard your story - CONGRATULATIONS! That is great & inspiring.

I purchased BF after I initially purchased O! I didn't hardly try O! first so am not sure why I sent for BF but I did try that for a longer period (b/4 I went back to nothing for a long, long time!). Personally, I like O! better - the whole process but mostly 'cause I don't need to hold my breath.

One thing that I must say about O! is the support from this message room. All of you are so great. I don't think BF has anything like this.

Whatever you decide to do - good luck!

Hi! I have started using body flex a couple months ago then I stopped. I went down a dress size in a month. In addition, my sister went down two dress sizes in 2 and a half months. I bought the body flex+ program and I love it. I stay motivated because it is instantly effective and I know that the whole time, except one exercise for the legs and bun, that I will be sitting. I understand that the breathing is difficult, you just have to get used to it however I did get headaches for a while after the exercise. I have not tried oxycise, hopefully it has the same results or better and is just as easy and convienient as body flex.

HI!! Smile I feel very motivated, with the whole exercise thing but I know the whole reason why I am overweight is because of me eating the wrong types of foods. Could you send me an outline? I desperately need it!

Thanks a lot! Smile

Hi Mandy,

Check out "Dieting for Dummies"... I know the author, Jane, and it's logical (eat everything from nature) cut out anything packaged etc. including condiments. (She lost 30 pounds in just a few months... and she's a doll... bubbly and funny!) Also check out www.watercure2.com it's all about drinking enough water and having sea salt as well. (I recommend "Real Salt" having good sea salt is really important... don't get it if it's pure white, it's been treated... the best stuff usually comes in a bag with a screw on top.)

As to the O vs. BF debate, I've only tried BF. I did the 'skipped breath' version and found it very effective. I love the way I feel. I am interested in O, maybe I'll try it in the future.

Good luck, Mandy!

In the past I have used both BF and Oxycise! and found O the most gentle on my body therefor I stuck with it and lost mega inches. The first time I used BF I threw up and all I had in my stomach was 2 mouthsfull of coffee, it is not gentle. Oxycise can be used any time of day and BF warns you not to use it if you have food or drink in your stomach for the obvious reason I stated.

As far a food I use the glycemic index and the book I use most often is by Sandra Woodruff, M.S., R.D. "The Good Carb Cookbook: Secrets of Eating Low on the Glycemic Index". It contains full meals and salads and soups etc., my husband does not know I use it yet and he just told friends on the weekend that my cooking has really improved....LOL!

Anyhow I just joined this site today and I am so excited! I have Oxycised! on and off for about 8 years. When I am not Oxycising! I am struggling with my Chron's disease. I am so sure tho that my gut is better overall because of all the oxygen I take in on a day to day basis.

HOrray for Jill!

Namaste,
Nancy

Nancy: If you go to www.mercola.com you can find good information about your disease. Dr. Mercola has some wonderful information about health and nutrition.

I have a question for the group. I bought Oxysize years ago and tried it maybe once! I also tried BF years ago and ended up at the Chiropractor's office because my neck was in spasm from Greer's exercises. Then last year I bought her new program with the bar. I do it first thing in the morning when I wake up, so I don't have to worry about food in my stomach. I have noticed my stomach flattening, but my upper arms are still flabby. I also walk 1/2 hour a day and stretch out after walking. I used to go to a personal trainer, but it was so expensive I had to stop. My upper arms were in good shape when I went to the trainer because I was exercising with weights. I'm wondering if I still need to use the weights since my arms are not as toned doing BF as they were with the weights. Also, with weights you are supposed to only do them every other day to give your body time to recouperate. Also, am I doing BF wrong because I do the exercises from the first tape and then I do the exercises with the bar -- is this the right or wrong way to do BF?

Finally, before everyone goes to sleep reading this lengthy message, I'm hoping I can find my way back to this chat room. I was just surfing around and came across it, and I'm not sure how to get back to it once I leave. Can someone contact me at: marylee@winning.com and tell me the direct way to get into this chat room?

Thanks so much!

MaryLee

Oh Oxycise seems so much more interesting then bodyflex. I'm still in high school but I want to be fit and i think Oxycise can help me. I have done bodyflex for only a month and i dont like the fact that you ahve to hold your breath and the fact that you ahve to do it on a empty stomach. I don't have a credit card so i can't order the program online and i'm pretty broke anyways so i'd appreciate it if someone would tell me how the breathing technique goes.
