Hi, all...
I emailed Julie this question, but thought I'd pose it to you all, as well. Maybe one or more of you have experienced this first hand... Do you get any benefit at all by doing the Oxycise! basic breath with the pelvic tilt lying down ONLY, without doing any of the body positions? Why I'm asking this is that tomorrow I start my 4-mile-a-day walking program my doctor put me on to strengthen my left hip from the injury I had back in July. I want to keep doing O!, but I think it would be too much on my body to do the positions along with the walking. At least at first, until I get my strength back. Any thoughts? Thanks, Donna |

It will definately strengthen the abs. Wasn't there some body builder that said that the breath was like doing crunches?

Donna, I'm sure that there will be benefits from just doing the pelvic tilt and basic breath. Just the breath is so important, and it's so much easier to keep on doing it than it is to stop and start, stop and start.

I often times only do the breath with laying down, infact I do that more often and not and have had no problem still loosing inches and even some pounds. I dont know if I will always do it like that, but my main goal has been to just make oxycise a daily habit then I will worry about adding postions, now about 2 times a week I usually do get my butt off the bed, and do throw in some yoga postions with the breathing, I have too , I teach belly dance and have to be able to inspire other ppl to stretch so that means I need to actually stretch now and then when my students arnt looking otherwise I would like rather stupid in class..LMFAO
But alot of the time during the week, more then I would actually like to admit too, I skip the yoga postions and just lay there and do the oxycise breath and take my time and really *feel* the breath and enjoy just laying there, I kinda play around like, I will breath kinda fast, then kinda slow, I turn on music and try to match the breath with it, ect..lol what ever keeps me amused for about 20 mins with it Now if I got my butt up and did the video I might loose more inches a little faster..lol But I have found with my personality I really have to enjoy something to stay with it, I enjoy laying on my bed breathing.. I can do that, daily even. And if I was to complicate it and force myself to do it with a video without my music and on someone else's speed, I might not do it and I know from experince, you quit doing oxycise and you will find yourself right back where you started, or atleast I did. I lost my back flub almost over night doing oxycise, I quit it and almost over night it was returned to me and I was not happy..lol So whatever you need to do to make it a daily habit is what you need to do, and if laying in bed breathing is what you can do daily, then do it, I would imagen, havnt gotten off the bed myself yet..lol but I would imagen what is going to happen in a few months is me and you will hit a platue with it, and then we will have to maybe move a little with it..lol and thats ok, when that time comes we can adjust and do that Starting Date 8-2-2005 Goal To stay commited to the program daily , every day for 6 months straight. (new years day 2006 ) Starting weight & size 175 & 14/16 WHAT WILL I BE ON NEW YEARS DAY 2006? *new years dream* Under 140lbs and a size 6/8 |

and it was almost exactly a year ago when I was here..
and the really werid thing is I am almost exactly the same size and weight I was when I was last here! Ok now that does make something I noticed in some photos make sense..as soon as I get my photo album going, I want you guys to look at something last year I had 2 belly dance performances, that were only maybe 4 weeks apart..I weighed exactly the same at both of them, but one was after I had been doing oxycise for about a month, then I had that performance and things happened and I stopped doing oxycise at all, then about 4 weeks later, had another performance..in these photos even at the same weight one I look really really good and fit in and one my tummy was really starting to look flubby again, and so I have been trying to figure out how the heck I changed so much in one month.. I just realized, I was the same weight but my tummy had lost inches doing oxycise, and the other was when I let myself *go* again.. let me get these posted somewhere so yall can see what I mean. |
