Hello everyone...
I've just completed my 5th full week of O and can't get over the difference it makes. My weight isn't moving very much but my inches certainly are. As heavy as I am, I can tell the difference in the toning of my arms and legs. I notice the more I practice O the more I want to push myself. I'm also finding lately that because of the intensity I'm also feeling soreness in my upper arms and legs mostly. I drink 10-12 glasses of water daily and sometimes more. My diet is fairly healthy but do cheat on occasion. I sit behind a desk all day and move very little. Could the soreness be from lack of activity. How could breathing possibly make me sore?!? Could it be the release of toxins? Can anyone help? THanks

Hi Ann Marie!

Welcome to the board!!! It sounds like you're already having some wonderful results with O!!! Keep up the good work!

I can't explain the soreness, but I've recently learned to massage the sore muscles by rubbing across them instead of with them. It opens up the energy flow, and releases toxins. You might try it. It's really helped me, but I need to do it consistently or the pain tends to come back soon. Just start at your waist or hips/shoulder, wherever you can feel the beginning of the pain, and follow the muscle down your leg/arm. You don't have to rub hard, and it will be very tender, but just give it enough pressure that you're really reaching the muscle. It makes a real difference for me within a few minutes. I found this information in the book "Body Reflexology - Healing at Your Fingertips" by Mildred Carter. It was in our little library, and I checked it out for 1 1/2 months, until the copy I got from Amazon arrived. :-) It's a very good book!!!

I hope you will come a post with us on the daily thread, D2L. We love to have lots of input there!!!

:-)Susanna

Hi from me, too, Ann Marie!

Yes, it sounds like you're really off to a good start with Oxycise!

The soreness could just be from using muscles that haven't been worked in awhile.

Hope to see you posting with us on the daily thread. It's a great way to stay accountable and get encouragement.

Susanna and Kelly,

Hello! Thanks so much for the warm welcome.

I originally started O a few years ago but was very impatient and didn't last past two weeks or so..... I did notice some toning from the get go but I felt it wasn't quick enough. I was looking for something magic to happen something like.... losing 50 pounds overnight.

I just recently came across the vhs tape again and said,"ah what the heck". I was frustrated within the first few days due to all the rewinding and the ribbon getting stuck in the machine that I ordered the dvd and have been doing it non stop for 5 weeks. I absolutely love it!!!!

I am not an easily motivated person and lay around most of the weekend but I do make time for O at least once a day preferrably in the evening.

Getting back to the soreness, When I got back into O 5 weeks ago I was a little sore but I noticed the deeper I would breath and the farther I would stretch an arm or leg the more sore I became. I just couldn'nt believe diaphragmatic breathing could be the reason.

It sounds like I'm getting a whole lot of something bad out of my system!!

You'll be seeing more of me here. I wanna hang with the pro's..... Smile

Thanks again for your responses Susanna and Kelly and I will definitely look into that book.

Ann Marie

Ann Marie,

Your idea of hanging with the pros made me giggle. I hope you're doing some heavy breathing this weekend, like a good girl!
