I'm sorry if this question has been asked before, I quickly browsed to see if anyone had asked it, but found nothing.

So I've had my oxycise tapes for a little while now, and I haven't quite gotten into it yet because of the holidays and personal hecticness... A good time for me to do oxycise is while I am driving, since my commute to or from work is about 40 mins or longer. I do not have a tape player in my car, because my car is a 2004 (who'd have thunk I'd need a tape player! lol) anyway... So, I finally got the tape onto my computer, converted it to MP3, burned it onto CD and I'm ready to start.... But I have a question.

Ok, so it's inhale, lift two three, exhale, out two three..... got that. But on the exhale, do I release the position? Or do I keep the muscles that are being worked in that particular move... working? Watching the video, I didn't see any signs of a release in the muscles... course, these people were in relatively good shape and who knows what's going onside...

It would make more sense to me to keep the position throughout and not release, because you are really working the muscles that way, but in the same token, Just like a person who is lifting weights, they go the "other way" too. (Contract, release.. even if it is not a forced release, they still release the muscle because they are moving it in the opposite direction...)

It seems to me that there is not enough time inbetween everything to release and re-lift.

Of course, I could also be thinking about this way too much and making it more difficult than it is.

So yea, that's my question. Smile

Hi, I think the short answer to your question is No, don't release the muscles during the exhale.

I just received Oxycise a week ago and so glad you asked that question. I wondered myself if I should release my stomach mucles or not for exhaling ever since. I even was going to call and ask Customer Service. So thanks and thanks for the answer Jennifer Smile.

I am going to love Oxycise!

You're welcome, Karen, and welcome to the board!

Jennifer

BTW--When you get stronger(or now if you can), it's good to pull up on the stomach muscles even more during the exhale.

Actually if you kind of pull your stomach muscle in as you exhale, your stomach will get an additional workout and it will strenghten and shrinken faster. And then lease it before you do the next inhale. And that technique works especially well if you are just plain old walking and breathing.
