I've noticed today when doing the Diagonal Leg Lifts that I can now lift my legs a lot higher than I could a few weeks ago. So I am wondering if anyone knows if this would be more effective? Or would I be better off keeping them at the level Jill does?

I don't know if it would be more effective or not. I would think you should just do whatever is most comfortable for you. I know on some of the tapes (especially the B&TH tapes) there are some folks who stretch more than Jill does.
Anyone else have any ideas on this? Kelly |

I know on some of the positions Jill will say "Lift it Higher" on like the last inhale. And then in the demonstrations she also says that as you get stronger to lift higher in some of the leg positions. I try to always lift as high as I can & S-T-E-T-C-H as far as I can! You could go back to the demonstations & see what she says, but I would go for it. Like Kelly said I know some of the people do lift higher then Jill in some of the other tapes. Hope this helps.

I say go for it. The fact that you are able to raise your leg higher just means you are gaining in flexibility and strength. I try to raise my legs as high as I can so that I can feel the burn but not have pain.
Hope this opinion helps you. Donna |

There is one position in the "Buns & Thighs 1" I'm thinking of, the Top Leg Lift, in which you are laying on your side on the floor, extending one leg straight out...
In this case lifting your leg higher is actually easier. One of the subjects is shown sticking her leg almost straight up toward the ceiling. In this particular position it's actually harder to hold your leg just a few inches off the floor. Your body will usually "tell you" when you are working harder... you will feel your muscles working (and sometimes complaining!)...and sometimes they will say "too much!" and you need to listen! (don't overdo!) |
