Hey everybody!! Well, I've never joined any support groups before, well, maybe ww for about 2 weeks, but this one looks like there are alot of very supportive people. I would love for someone to tell me how I need to work this site. I see this DTO or something that seems really great. Someone please share!!! I have my oxycise tape and I've pretty much learned the level 1 workout. still have to master that tuck. I can't seem to get the kegels at the same time but I'm sure with practice I will. I did do it just about every day there for a week but then I got really sick as well as my two children and all you mom's know how that goes. Plus my throat was hurting too much to even want to breathe!!! I seem to have lost a few inches from various areas. I plan to get back on track tomorrow, remeasure, and all that good stuff and stay with it every single day!!!!!! I have about 100 lbs. to lose to reach my ultimate goal and i know I can do it if I set my mind in the right direction. My biggest problem is of course the food. I keep reading about Jill's book fuel for success. Anyone highly recommend it and is it worth the money? Well, guess I'd better post this before it turns into a book!! Hope to hear from a few people!!

Hi Terri Kay I want to welcome you as well. I just joined myself not too long ago and I am still trying to figure this who chat room out myself. I too am a mother of two children. I have started oxycise again for the fourth time and I know it works, its just a matter of sticking with it for me. I am hoping with the online support and encourage ment I will stay on track for the last time. I did it today, I oxycised and started drinking water(two glasses today!!!) and I only went to Tim Hortons once today instead of three or four times in one day! I wish you the best of luck and I'm looking forward to talking to you more!

Congratulations on a great start- you're already losing! I don't have the Fuel For Success book, so I can't comment on it. I do know that watching food intake is important for me. Most of us eat way more than we need to!
D2L O! Pals--D=determined 2=to L=lose O!=oxycise-- determined to lose! It's a group of us who feel we need daily contact and support. On the message room page, look for the Daily Support and Accountability line and click on the "last post"--then read the posts for the day(so far), and click on "post reply" to add your own message. Make sure it has the right date, or you'll be posting on the day before. I hope all that makes sense. I look forward to seeing you post your progress! Jennifer Hi- Joline! Congrats on a good day. What the heck is Tim Horton's? Whatever it is- it sounds like something good! |

Hi Jennifer, Tim Hortons is a big coffee chain here in Canada. I guess it is kind of like a STAR BUCKS. I absolutly love their Ice cappichino's!!! We have three Tim Hortons shops where I come from and there are always huge line ups at them. What kind of coffee shops do you have where you live?

I don't think I've seen any coffee shops here- although there are a lot of other USA chains- McDonald's, all the pizza places, Chucky Cheese, Dunkin Donuts, Burger King, and they ALL deliver for free! Temptation aplenty. I also love the local ice cream.

Hi Terrie Kay and welcome! I have been doing Oxycise since March, 2001 and I do love it. It has become a habit that I do not intend on breaking. You will find yourself wanting to do the basic breath throughout the day. It just feels good. I was able to achieve the lift pretty easy but, I did notice that when I sit, I feel it more. When I exhale and do the 3 puffs, I actually tighten and pull in my abs farther and farther with each puff. It really works those abs. I also squeeze my buns more when sitting. I learned this by doing the commuter routine every day to and from work. It keeps me from getting upset in traffic too.
It's always good to join up with a supportive group like D2L. You get to the point where you feel like you must do your Oxycise so you won't disappoint the others. Of course, we never get upset with one another but, we do encourage doing it as much as possible. It's more about achieving your own personal goals. We all have different ones. I don't have the Fuel for Success book either but, I have heard many people have done very well with it. I also have to watch what I eat and exercise to see results. I do Oxycise first and then fill in with other workouts just for lots of variety. Many people do just Oxycise though. When my knee injury acts up, I only do Oxycise and I feel wonderful afterwards. Okay, I am done for now. Be sure to come see us on the D2L threads. Merritt |

Hi Terrie Kay...welcome to Oxycise and to the message board!
I have the Fuel For Success book and I do recommend it highly. It has some really good advice for healthy eating in it. I don't follow it exactly, but I have made some healthy changes in my eating habits. This really is a great group. I hope to see you posting with us frequently! Kelly |

Hi Terrie Kay
I've lost 29 lbs so far since Sept 2002. it sounds slow but I know i will keep it off. I need to get off like 50 more to be at a good weight for me, so we are all in it together. KOB (keep on breathing) Shelby |

DH stands for "darling husband" (some might use "dear" or "hubby" instead)
btw....TOM is "time of month". Shelby just explained KOB. What are some of the others we use, y'all? Kelly |

Hi Terrie
Welcome it's always nice to see new people in here.I haven't been doing this for very long, but I find the people here are wonderful. They actually care and even if you miss days or stop and restart they are still just as wonderful as before. I also have about 100 pounds to lose and so far O is doing what it should. It's not comming off as fast as I want, but it's slowly leaving. Dont get discouraged too much if it's not immediate. Sorry it's so long Lisa |

Wow!! It's so great to check in here this morning and see so many replies and so much encouragement.!! I think I'm gonna stick to this for sure now. I do know that it works and it all makes sense, it's just sometimes for some reason even though it's sooooo easy, you just don't do it. Anyone figure out why? Is it willpower or does the daily life just sneak up on us too fast? Well, i look forward to talking to each and every one of you and learning from you as well. HOpe I make a bunch of new friends!!!

Hi joline. Sounds like you have one of the same problems that I do. Drinking that miserable water. There are days when I can get it down with no problem and other days where I just look at it and think Blah!!! and I know we all know that's one of the bigges factors in losing weight. I've noticed if I keep bottled Dasani around I love to drink it, it's just that it can get expensive. it's my favorite brand for some reason. i know it's hard to stick to something too. just like I said in my other post, things just get in the way I guess. especially with two little ones. mine are 4 and 4 months. I am determined to do it evey day this time and I'm just going to do it all at once. I was sneaking reps in here and there before and then it would it bedtime and I wouldn't have done all 30. Well, I'll end this post for now. Look forward to chatting with you and I wish you and everyone luck!!!

To all our newest members,
Welcome to Oxychat. It's great to have you!! Joline - my fellow Canadian -- those Iced Caps are great aren't they???? But sooooo fattening!! When someone is going for a Tim Hortons' "run" it's so hard to say that I don't want anything!! I got in my O! right after work today. Had a decent dinner -- lentil & bean veggie burger on a whole wheat english muffin and some vegetables that were left over from my boiled dinner I made on Sunday. I'm not a vegetarian, but I found that those burgers are a nice variety. And I always LOVE to try something new. Anyways, talk to you all soon! Paula |

Hi Paula, It's nice to meet you. It's nice to know there is another canadian!!! Sounds like you had a good lunch. How is the weather there? Here it is cold and windy and snowy. -22degrees celcius. Tonight I am going to do O! and then I am going to go to water areobics. It's my one night a week to have some fun so I might as well try to lose some weight while I am at it. Hope everyone has a great evening.
Terry: Is the water you buy flavoured? If so let me know what is a good flavour. I figured I start out with two glasses of water a day for now and work my way up slowly so It doesn't seem like a whole lot to drink!!! Have a great day. From Joline |

Joline--I agree with Terrie Kay on the water. I had trouble with it too at first but now I carry around a big 4-glass bottle to make it easier. It really helps! f I can drink 1 1/2 to 2 of those a day, I'm happy (although if you need to gradually increase your water intake, you should do whatever works best for you). I've noticed that, for me, drinking the water definitely keeps me from munching all day. It doesn't do anything to get rid of hunger if I'm already feeling hungry, but it does do a lot to prevent me from getting hungry. I definitely notice a difference if I don't have my water near me to drink. Plus, I heard that if you are even just slightly dehydrated, the metabolism slows down. Good luck with it!
I was wondering about the "DH" and "TOM". I had figured out what they meant by the context but didn't know what they stood for. Thanks for the clarification/explanation! Caroline |

Well, the water I buy isn't flavored, I just have a preference for that brand. People can call me crazy if they want, but I think all the bottled water tastes different. Arrowhead is okay, while Aquafina kind of has a strong mineral taste to me and then there's my favorite, which is Dasani. To me, it just has the cleanest, freshest, mild taste. it's what water should taste like. not that water tastes, but you know what I mean. If you've never had dasani water, go buy a bottle. it's a dark blue label. you'll see what I mean. I've never tried the flavored waters, except for that gatorade propel stuff, which I'm not sure if it has any calories or not. I didn't care for it. it kind of had that aspartame taste to it. but then again, I'm a picky person so you could give it a whirl. I knew a girl once that filled up one of those sport bottles and she would put it in the freezer till it started to freeze up. she said she loved drinking it just when it started to have ice chips. kind of makes me thirsty just talking about it. so there's an idea. talk to ya more later!!!
