A quick post before I am off to other things.
I did L1 today with weights.

Susie- You may have a head ache for 2 reasons I can think of.
1)Too heavy a weight too quickly. I hurt my back a couple weeks ago doing things too quickly weight wise.
2) Incorrect breathing. If your shoulders are tight, & you're breathing from the chest & not the belly, your neck can get real tight and give you a headache.

Just my .02 worth.
Have a good day all!

and all you other buddies, too! I'll soon do my double L1 with weights. It's so strange to have hard muscles--never had them before. When I get up in the morning and stretch like a cat, it still surprises me to feel the strength!

Blue Eyes, thanks for the encouragement. It really does help to O!--the physical benefits and the sense of accomplishment too.

Tamie- About DH--mine was skeptical for quite a while because I've tried so many things without success and I'm a bit gullible. Now he's convinced and even tells others about what I'm doing! But he still hasn't tried it and I haven't suggested it. He likes running. He just doesn't have time to run as much as he wants, so I think eventually he'll break down and O! for only 15 minutes. Yesterday he asked me how many hours a week I do it. Ha! I said - not very many, usually 15 to 30 minutes a day.

Susanna- I'm changing the way I use my change one online membership. My brain seems to rebel when I get too caught up in exact measurements like calories. Now I'm recording what I ate, but not calories. I have done well when I just try to eat 1/2 what I would normally eat (like 1/2 sandwich instead of a whole). So I'm also recording if I ate 1/2 the usual.I'm still using it- and trying to make it fit my personality.

Susie- It took a couple of months before I felt a difference in my abs- I guess because I have never had ab muscle strength. But now I feel strength there!

Good morning everyone. I wish I could post more but, things are really starting to happen with the close of our company and that means the HR Manager is in great need.

I did a LS 2 mile walk this morning and the commuter on the way to work. I was thrilled that I didn't get stabbed with pain when I did my Oxybreaths. I am back on a roll!

I hope you all have a great day. Maybe tomorrow won't be filled with as much work. Hey, I didn't even get to go for lunch yesterday.

Have a great Thursday everyone.

Good morning! I did my O! in the shower again before bed, that seems to be working well for me.

Recently I saw a couple articles in a magazine that really made sense. One of them has a "recipe" to help reduce the appearance of cellulite. Mix one part cocoa with two parts honey, then step into the shower and spread over your body, rinse after five minutes. Apparently "caffeine rich cocoa acts as a diuretic, releasing toxins to firm skin and reduce appearance of cellulite." Next time I shop I'm going to buy some cheap cocoa and honey and try it out. Big Grin Apparently movie stars get that at fancy spas done with Godiva chocolate. Eek

The other article points out that most peoples' bodies are too acidic, which hinders weight loss, among other things. "Enzymes inside the cells lining your stomach don't work efficiently, which impairs the breakdown of fats". Apparently the most natural way to cure this, is to cut out meat and eat lots of greens. The article also mentioned a brand of water that (at three bottles a day) can help correct your pH levels. It is called Evanmor, and might be available at your local healthfood store, and you can go to their web page at www.evamor.com ...(Apparently it is only available in the US so far.) I've also seen infomercials about something else that is supposed to make you more alkaline, too, www.supremegreensstore.com/ . I haven't tried either of these, but since I keep hearing about this I think it's at least worth looking into more.

Rose,
The water thing makes sense. There is a mineral water here in France called Contrex & it is know to help you lose. It tastes very minerally.

Just for the heck of it I added up my total inch loss from the beginning of my O! experience. I've lost 15.2 inches total, measuring ribcage, waist, hip & thigh. Great huh?

Good morning everyone! I did my Oxycise this morning. That almost goes without saying since I won't usually post if I haven't done it. Once again I changed the mix around with some different positions. The combinations are endless!

The information you shared is interesting, Rose. I was drinking orange juice as I read the part about our bodies being too acidic (kind of ironic considering how acidic citrus fruits are!). I'm not sure what I think about covering myself with chocolate and honey. I'm sure the smell would linger and my dogs would drive me crazy sniffing me!

Merritt....when I'm busy like you are it sure keeps my mind off of food. I'm glad you were able to do your heavy breathing again comfortably.

Good to see everyone else here today. Just think...the weekend's almost here!

Good Morning O! Buddies!

I just finished L1 and hope to get another one in this afternoon. I did do 2--back to back yesterday--the first time ever! And I lived to tell about it--lol!

Susanna--you're right--where are all the other pregnant ladies??? I feel so lonely--watching all of you SHRINK--as my belly is slowly starting to expand! LOL! That's okay though--I feel good about my weight gain--for the first time in my life--because I know with Oxycise--it's only temporary!

Merritt--good to hear that you are feeling better!

I need to get going--I am making a big pot of home made vegetable beef soup today.

Hope you all have a nice day--KOB--Julie

It's sunny and beautiful here right now. Makes me feel good!

Julie, I had a quick email from Melinka yesterday, and she said to tell everyone that she just hasn't had a lot of time to talk lately, but she'll be back to catch up pretty soon. She said it's been hot with 90% humidity...and it's hard on her! I can sympathize! I'm also glad you lived to tell us about your 2 workouts yest.! Wink

Jennifer, I think your "tweak to fit" method is just great! I just use the outline they had in the Jan. 2003 issue, and I probably don't always get the calorie count just right, but it gave me an idea of how much to eat.

Yes, Shelby, that is great! I'm proud of you!

Susie, I often get headaches while doing O also, but they usually go away quickly. Linda from MN mentioned in today's newletter that the longer you faithfully do O, the better the workout becomes because you are stronger and can do it more effectively. I was thinking of what you said about not feeling your abs...to start with I could hardly feel it either, but the longer I stay with it, the more I feel everything. Don't give up!

I did my O early yesterday, and I might see if I can do 2 workouts today...

I just wanted to let you know that I, too, have an awful time doing O! during TOM. I get pretty jealous of people who say it improves the pain. The lift just aggrevates mine. I usually only miss one day though. One or two days off won't hurt you. Maybe you can find some other exercise to do during that time. I am currently at TOM and I did 2 miles of walking. It didn't hurt my cramps and actually made them more tolerable.
