Hi guys!! New kid here... have been posting in daily reports, but got the scoop from Jennifer y'all post here usually.
I have L 1,2,3 and buns and thighs. I've been O! ing for the past few days and I must say I feel pretty good!! Big Grin Did buns and thighs yesterday and MAN!!! some real butt pain going on today! hehehehe (opted for L3 today instead) ouch! Eek
Now trying to figure out how to eat. hmmm... ok, I saw the suggestions in the other section.. WW and ChangeOne. Have investigated and will have to muster up my discipline. Razz
I'm wondering if anyone has had the same experience with dieting.. for example, if I set a time goal to lose *X* amount of inches.. I get stressed out about it and that sends me to falling off the wagan. I figured 20 pounds or the inch equivalent in 3 months was pretty reasonable... but found myself agitating about it. I guess whatever works...
I seem to gravitate towards the WW points system.. so I won't feel deprived. But I do realize portion control is an issue. Gosh, I want it all!!! Razz
I'd appreciate some feed back on different ways of eating from members... maybe I can figure something out from real life experiences ( the ups and downs of reality and not just how it is 'supposed' to be done)

Hugs to all.. and strong wishes for a successful day.. whatever you are aiming to acheive!!!

Hi, Karen, I'm Donna.

I recommend picking up Dr. Phil's latest book...7 keys to weight loss freedom. It's amazing. I'm already incorporating some of his strategies in my life and I'm eating less, but still feeling satisfied. The weight is peeling off, honest to God. I'm measuring again in a couple of days...can't wait to see what it says.

My two cents, for what it's worth.

Have a good day...

Hi Karen, I too am a green eyed cat lady. I can already relate to you. Big Grin I have been doing oxycise for nearly 3 years now and I am most successful when I do watch what I eat. I have tried WW with minimal success. I think different eating plans work for different people. I have been low carbing now since October and that coupled with Oxycise has done the trick for me. I am so thrilled with my success. I have gone down 30 lbs. and many inches. I never feel deprived (thanks to Splenda) and I am never hungry. I understand that Jill's book is wonderful as well. It really depends on you. I am very lucky to have my husband doing the low carb eating with me. It really does make a huge difference.

I am so glad you have joined us. I know your great sense of humor will be welcomed as well. Good luck and visit often. It's key to the whole program for most of us.

I know what you mean about setting specific goals of "X" lbs in "X" weeks. If I get too specific- My brain rebels. I think it may be a personality type--some people are very goal-oriented and do well with that. I have noticed that some of our O! friends drop out as soon as they set those kinds of goals. I was saying I wanted to lose 5 more lbs by Valentine's Day--but I take it back. The same happens with me when I get on eating programs that are very specific. I have done the best when I tell myself that I will eat what I want--But try to eat 1/2 as much as usual(except for vegetables and protein). Half a sandwich, half a piece of cake, half of whatever. Or if I normally eat 2 sandwiches, then just 1. Plus, I try to increase proteins, and eat fewer "bad" carbs.

THose are my thoughts------Jennifer Big Grin

Everybody here has some good suggestions... I don't follow any one specific book or plan, but have incorporated points from different things that feel like it's something I can do indefinitely. The main two things being portion control and low carb. Plus I allow one (or sometimes two Wink ) bad foods in my diet, so I'm less likely to go off the deep end some day when I'm tempted. Smile

Thanks for your respsonses.. it's good to know I'm not alone in the goal-less wonderment arena. Big Grin
I also have the FFS book.. from ages ago... but I just can't eat carbs very successfully. Even if I carefully weigh and measure and keep the calories very low.. I gain weight and that's that. Frown
I think perhaps after all my many years of dieting I can sit down and really think about what has worked, what has not and put together bits and pieces, as you mentioned Rose.. maybe devise my own special thing and be happy with the slow steady results..or NOT...LOL!!! I am so impatient.
Also.. a very perplexing thing happened to me today.. I was feeling good.. been O! ing like a mad woman.. and today my jeans are tight. I am so not happy about that. It's not that time of the month... I can actually *see* that my thighs are swollen and I look like I have a canteloupe in my stomache. I was wondering if this could be from swollen muscles due to the extreme work I seem to have done this week with O!... has anyone else experienced this? Or am I, as I suspect, a freak of nature. Razz
I am so very pleased and encouraged by all your posts... big hugs of congrats to all who are working so hard and getting the 'pay-off' I am so proud of you all.
And thanks for welcoming me into your group and your words of wisdom and experience.

Awaiting to hear I am normal with swollen muscles... Big Grin

I like the FFS. book of foods as i hate to weigh & measure. I get discouraged quickly if have to do that. Frown
Just give me a list of all the great foods to eat healthy and let me pick out what i want for each meal, thats the way to go. I like choices not a strict diet of foods to eat. What about anyone else? Have a great weekend everyone Big Grin
