Good morning y'all! I've done my O! and I'm ready to face the day. DD and I did our walk video, too.

You know...I realize you were teasing me, 2B, but I've given what you said a lot of thought. I think what I will miss is the fun of doing the walk videos WITH my daughter. Our older DD use to do them with us a few years ago and that was really fun! However, once we get into the routine of school, I'm not sure I'll really have time to do them on my own. She plans to do some form of exercise in the evenings, but I may not join her. After all...I honestly think O! is all I NEED to do.

Did you get out and mow any yesterday, Susanna? I think you mow more than I vacuum. Wink At least yours is seasonal.

Carol!! It's great to see you posting again! I can't believe Elise is already 5 months old. Time sure flies.

Good to see your post, Leah. Your girls sure must be good sports to listen to the commuter tape instead of something they can sing along to! My kids would have been complaining. We still have trouble settling on what to listen to when we go somewhere together! Each of us (DD, DS, DH and myself) all have differing tastes in music.

Hope everyone has a great Friday! Any fun plans for the weekend?

Hi, Kelly! I did my car workout this morning, may do a tape later. You asked if I speak Portuguese, the answer is no! But my husband is fluent in it. I speak Spanish, and they say that it has many similarities to Spanish. I'm hoping for Argentina so I don't have to learn Portuguese, but who knows, maybe Brazil would be much better for our family. I'll let you all know when we know for sure.

WE plans, today is my youngest daughter's 6th birthday, so we'll do a family celebration today. Tomorrow is a big family reunion, so that should be fun.

KOB buddies! It's a small investment of time and effort with incredible returns. Don't forget to do it with all the gusto you've got!

Jennifer

Hi Kelly and Jennifer! Hello to all the O-buddies who come in today!

It's a beautiful sunny day here. Yes, I did mow yesterday, and plan to do more today. I also did my O last night, and plan to do that today, too.

No fun plans for us, so far. In fact dh has to work more than usual this weekend. Frown

I hoping to see posts from Jeans, EmBe, Mandy, Vicki, Tammy, Jessa, Donna, Margie, Ellen, Shelby, and anyone else who's been MIA lately!!! How about it ladies? Smile

Well, here I am jumping on board to the board! I posted under another thread for a "pen" pal and Kelly suggested I come here. I have a good deal to lose, so your support is very important to me. My husband supports me, but loves me the way I am so I know he's not really going to get on my case if I backslide or "forget" to O! It kind of works in reverse and I have to remind HIM the benefits of having a healthier wife! LOL There are so many things we don't do because of my weight. Can't fit in a seat at the movies, scared of going to restaurants because if they have a booth, I'm sunk. I can't walk like I used to or ride my bike which I really miss the most! And mostly, I'm tired of looks and stares and unkind comments which people think you don't hear. I've always been heavy, but since gallbladder surgery it seems my weight came back on with a vengance. (I was eating low fat for so long before surgery that after it was out I literally went hog wild with all the foods I'd missed.sigh)Add to that the onset of peri-menopause and all the hormonal implications and bang...I'm in a mess!
On the plus side: I've been consistently O'ing for two weeks now (with only two or three misses during the weekend) and I'm really starting to feel great. This may sound weird, but even though I can't see it in the mirror yet I can feel the change inside. I feel firmer and my energy level is definitely on the upswing. (I haven't fallen asleep in front of the TV for several nights now--usually I konk out before the 10pm local news!) Last night, for the heck of it, I put on a pair of capris from last summer which didn't fit me at all a few weeks ago. Well, they're still tight but I was able to get them up over my butt and my legs didn't look like sausages--there was actually some leg room. So, I'm getting there.
I'm doing O! but I'm also doing some extra leg exercises as that is my real problem zone and the only alteration in my diet is to eliminate breads and bad carbs. I'm increasing my veggie intake and eat lots of salads and salmon. Well, I talked your ears off enough so I'm heading off to do my O! now. Maybe my cat will watch me again today---I have two and my younger one gets a kick out of watching me breathe. The other one runs for cover! LOL

Hi All -
Janice, congrats on your success so far. Sounds like you're doing great!
Got in a commuter. I have errands to run tomorrow (yuk!) so I've made a committment to myself to do a minimum of 2 commuters between stops. We're going out to dinner with 2 other couples tomorrow night so my thought is if I'm feeling good about myself for doing O! I won't eat something I shouldn't.

Hi everyone,

I did L2 today. My favorite! There is just something about exercising barefoot and not sweating buckets. I can't stand to sweat a lot sometimes. But sometimes it feels good to break a sweat.

I'm leaning towards starting my Radiant Recovery program to get me off of sugars. I love them so much and I am scared, but the process will literally take months probably. There is a reason that you take baby steps and not just try to cut out white bread, sugar, etc.

I'm so depressed about my weight and the fact that I'm still struggling after all these years. I'm tired of focusing on it so much. I just want to be healthy and feel good, which I don't now. It is hard to believe that there might be a biochemical reason that I feel this way.

I'm already on antidepressants for post partum depression. I feel better, but once I start taking better care of my body I think I will feel even better.

Hi All,

It sounds like you all are doing great today! Welcome Janice to the group! We are glad to have you here.

I did my commuter today and a few extra breaths as well. I realized after reading the recent Oxycise newsletter that I wasn't really breathing in and out as much as I should be, so I have increased the intesity of my breating and that really does make a big difference. Now maybe I will start to see a change...

It was interesting that at my last visit with the Chiropractor he commented that for some reason things seem to be changing in my body. My first thought was that maybe I was pregnant and didn't know yet and then I talked with a friend who also does Oxycise from time to time and she made the comment that maybe the inside of my body is changing as a result of the Oxycise. Now that made sense to me. We will just have to wait and see which it is. It will be interesting to see if the oxycise has made such a difference that my Chiropractor has noticed although I haven't noticed any changes yet. I guess it would be a good thing for me to go and take some measurements to see if there are any changes there yet.

Well, tonight is the closing program for the Music Camp that DD1 has been attending all week, so I best get going and figure out what is for supper.

Leah

For Cchapin:
The hardest thing I ever did was go "cold turkey" off sugar, but I'm glad I did it. The first three days I felt horrible. I found that drinking a LOT of water did help to expedite the detox however, so when you take the plunge keep that in mind. You'll literally be floating away, but it will diminish the effects of detoxing. After three days, the cravings do go away. Now, I'm not saying that I haven't fallen off the bandwagon several times but the interesting thing is that now if I have something too sweet I don't enjoy it as I once did. In fact, if anything is too sugary it almost makes me a bit queasy.
I, too, have struggled with my weight all my life and have had a tendency to backslide in my weight loss attempts, but with my 49th birthday fast approaching I decided that I don't want to be a crippled and unhealthy older woman--so here I am again, but this time with a will! Be kind to yourself and be patient and you will get there, too! God bless you!

Hi guys, I'm new to this forum. Just wanted to see if anyone else has thyroid problems (I'm underactive) and if O! has helped them with the inevitable weight gain which comes with it? I have used O! 4 years ago to lose weight (can't remember why I stopped!) but not since I was diagnosed.

Hi Alysia,
I do have a sluggish thyroid. I've been on a low dose of Synthroid for about a year. While my endocronologist insists this has nothing to do with my weight, I'm convinced that this is why it's been such an uphill battle for me. Sometimes I just let his words go in one ear and out the other! LOL I, too, have had O! for a few years and my experience with it has been in fits and starts. But this time, I am determined to make it work and have been at it for a bit over two weeks. I am starting to see results--actually, FEELING them more than seeing them at this point (I was able to get a pair of pants on that previously didn't fit as noted in my original post)I believe with consistant use of this program it can work for you too. The best thing you can do for your body is to feed it more oxygen! Now, part of low thyroid is a tendency to get a bit depressed which can lead to discouragement. I have to admit that sometimes I grumble through my workout but I do it anyway. By the end of it, I'm feeling a lot happier. Keep coming here and keep us posted on your progress!
