Rise & Shine and give God the glory, glory! Any of you ever sing that song? Every day is a gift - that's why it's called the "present"!

We have another day to start over...we're alive, O! breathing, making good choices in our daily activities (eating, working, helping, shopping, etc.) Today is an O!begin again day - which for me includes my food intake.

Last night I just gave in and ate all these "bread" items close to bedtime (I used to do that in my "before-O!" days). My stomach hurt and I just felt bloated & not very good. Today is a new day and I am choosing to live an O!-friendly day. I walked for 30 min. in the cool morning air (thunderstorms rolled through last night)and I did my oxycise in three sessions (20 reps in my house, 3 reps while I walked and 7 reps here at work). I drank my fruit shake w/ 1/4c. ground almonds. When I got to work the coffee smelled so good. I decided to forgo my prior commitment to only drink coffee on the weekends. WRONG! You know, it didn't even taste that good - I threw it out.

I'm trying to get my body in more of an alkaline state instead of so acidic. Of course, we all know that coffee is acidic. So, why would I put coffee in my body right after eating a wonderfully alkaline breakfast of fruit/almonds? Not very smart!

I always thought fruit was acidic, so I shouldn't eat very much. What I understand now is that fruit may be acidic as it's going into your body, but once it's in the body digesting, it becomes alkaline. Here's some information I found and you can google it yourself for more info:

Alkaline vs Acidic
The human body is composed of 78% water. The cells in the body are 98% water. The body fluids of healthy people are slightly alkaline while the same fluids of those who are sick are acidic, ranging from slightly acidic to extremely acidic. The degree of acidity significantly affects the body's own ability to prevent and/or reverse illness and disease [including degenerative diseases]. According to Dr. Mark Cochran, in his book The Secrets of pH Concerning Health and Disease, in order to avoid disease and premature aging, the body should remain in a slightly alkaline condition.

Our efforts to establish and maintain good health are often thwarted by our lack of knowledge. Frankly put, our problems stem from either one of two things [or a combination of both of them.]

What we put into our bodies [by eating, drinking, breathing or absorbing, etc.] or
What we are not taking in that we should [nutrients, vitamins, minerals, water, etc].
Whatever comes into contact with our skin or lungs is absorbed into the body within a matter of seconds. If the product causes acidity, the entire body responds. To achieve and maintain a healthy alkaline body, we must eat foods and use products that produce an alkaline body. In addition to eating properly, one of the best and most effective ways to accomplish this, is to use an effective detoxifying system.
The normal American diet consists of a lot of fast food, high in protein, fat, sugar and carbohydrates, which contributes to an overly acidic body. Another source of acid is soda. Soda has an acidic range around 2.5 pH [similar t battery acid]. It takes an incredible amount of "good" water to counteract the effects of soda. In other words, you may have to drink nearly 32 glasses of 7.0 pH water to eliminate the bad effects of 1 glass of soda. In addition to soda - coffee, caffeine, sugar and smoking all contribute to raising the acid levels in one's body, thereby contributing to many serious health problems.

It is important to understand that changing the body's pH does not cure disease, however, it allows the body to heal itself by ridding it of toxins and allowing the body to operate at its optimum ability, which is a key to achieving and maintaining good health. Creating an environment where our bodies can not only fight disease but thrive is not difficult, but it does require a bit of knowledge and considerable commitment. Learning about the alkaline - acid connection will give you the knowledge -- you will have to find the commitment from within.

Blessings to all!

SmileWow, Melinda thanks for the info

Where are all my O! pals today?

I walked today and did my O! breaths. Yesterday I rode a bike for almost 45 minutes. Lots of up hill riding. Ouch!

I hope more of you show up tomorrow.

Have a good evening.

I hope that everyone had a good day! We walked at the lake 3.2 miles in spite of the wind and gloomy dark clouds. It has been raining lightly off and on. We are expecting temps in the 40's tomorrow so that will slow me down a little. Actually, that might be a good thing because of my sore feet and blisters. Big Grin Tomorrow will be 3 weeks since I started exercising and O! Hopefully, I will see some positive results for my determined efforts. I have really strived to eat well and drink water as well as mineral water, etc. I finished O! and my weights/exercise routine, too.

Hope you all have a really good night! Smile
