Hi guys! First here today! So good to read all the posts... the successes and struggles. This is real life!

Terri.. I especially wanted to say hi to you and let you know I know how you feel being big. Sloppy. That's exactly how I felt for years. As I mentioned in my first post elsewhere, I weighed 240 at the age of 22 and I am 5'2". YIKES!! Red Face
Even though I lost over 100 pounds that year, I still keenly remember my emotional state and can slip into it again when my jeans get tight. I was large throughout my childhood and teens. Thankfully, I rarely get too far before something kicks in and says..."come on now... you wanna be like that again?" For the past 20 years I have pretty much maintained.. with a few 'hiccups' here and there. I am having a 'hiccup' right now. Big Grin
Also, just wanted to mention.. now I know it's darned near impossible to give up those scales. I used to be a daily scale hopper.. hop on, read the numbers, mind set changes, hop off and feel good or bad the rest of the day. I gave up my scales years ago. First I put it in the closet and rarely took it out. Then I actually pitched it out. I find it far more encouraging to use a piece of clothing to gauge success in the battle of the bulge.
I can almost hear alot of you saying in horror.."What? Never!" Well, try it. You might like it. Wink
Anyway.. I haven't O!'d this weekend as my plan is to O! 2 x per day Mon-Fri and have the weekends off. Then I won't get discouraged when things come up on the weekends and there is no time to O!.
I do hope all had a great weekend... I am having my newly found 1/2 sister and her hubby over for dinner today. Actually I found her about a year ago but didn't meet her till Oct last year.

Keep the Faith, ladies!

Hugz,
Karen Cool

Hello Karen, and all. I like to take the weekends off, too, usually. But last night I was sitting at my computer and figured I might as well do some breathing... so I did that for 5 minutes. (Which works out to half a workout for me.)

I measured shortly before I started in on O! two weeks ago, and was going to measure after the first week, but had the gut problems. I was afraid I might be bloated and get the wrong reading, so I'm going to wait until the end of next week to be sure I'm cured of anything like that. Smile

Sometimes I get discouraged when I think about how much I need to lose and how slow it's going, but then I think about some of you on here that had way more to lose, and kept going until your goal was within sight.

I guess it didn't work--Does anyone know how I can transfer a picture from one website into a "post"--when I try to do it--it only let's me put it into an email--when I try to drag it across to this page--what am I doing wrong?

Hi Shelby--thanks--I was typing the URL in--instead of copy and pasting it--

Hello...

Did L1 today without weights because somehow I hurt my neck while in the shower this morning Confused. Weird. Oh, well. At least I did it. Not doing too good on the water, though. I better get on it!

I, also, do not own a scale, and never will again. My whole life was focused on what that number said. If it was down, I had a good day. If it was up, I was suicidal. It's not worth it. I like measuring, though. Doesn't seem to have that adverse effect on me, don't know why. I also feel that the best way of monitoring how you're doing is by how your clothes are fitting.

Speaking of which, I tried on my "goal overalls" yesterday. They are at a point now where they are still snug, but comfortable, you know? I move freely in them...they aren't sucking me in like they were. So, that's progress. Big Grin I think I'll be able to wear them in public by Spring.

Well, have to get ready for the SuperBowl game...Father-In-Law is coming overRoll Eyes.

Until tomorrow...

Donna Smile

Hi everyone!! Didn't do my O today, but I decided that I need to take a day off. I know they say in regular exercising you should have atleast one day of rest and that's when your muscles do the most building, so oxycising is just like exercising-but better-so I guess I should rest in there somewhere. Maybe that's why I've felt so sore.

Karen-It's nice to know someone knows exactly what I mean. I'm sure alot of others do too but it's good to hear it. I do own a scale but I'm not so bad about it. I do go pretty much by the "feel" of the clothes. But I wouldn't mind seeing it read 135 again!!!! It's great that you found your sister!! So many people probably never do.

Donna-congrats on the fitting of the overalls. I've been thinking about getting myself some "goal pants". you know what I want to get into-and look good in-more than anything is a pair of those black velvety looking pants. I just loovvee those. I've been thinking about going and buying a pair of those in a goal size and having them hang around the bedroom to "remind" me to keep it up. Have no idea where to by a pair of those though. Maybe Sears or someone. doubt Wal-Mart would have them.

Well everyone, I shall "chat" with you in the postroom tomorrow. I have to measure and weigh tomorrow so I'm kind of edgy. Hope everyone's Monday goes great!!!

Terrie

P.S. where does everyone get the cute pictures and stuff from and how do you put it there? I see where Shelby has told Julie about her picture from somewhere else but her answer was greek to me. I'm not exactly the computer whiz.
