Hi Susanna, I'm a newbie - cruised over here for some encouragement, so I Thank You for sharing. Would you mind providing some more details on your success?? How often do you Oxycise, WOE, etc? I started O! 3 weeks ago - 1st 10 days, nothing, then day 11 - 14, I lost 4 lbs & 9"'s. Since then - nothing again. So I'm wondering do you just keep breathing along, and then whammo, inches & lbs gone - or has your loss been more steady? I'm eating high protein, complex carbs; still working out at the gym; plus GARDENING Smile. I should be SKINNY. Dealing with a mid-life metabolism, hormone change, or something ...

I appreciate your encouragement!

Garden Girl, I use the ChangeOne plan from the Jan. 2003 issue of Reader's Digest for a guideline on calories, and food combinations. I often go for 11 or 12 days without losing, and then I'll lose 2 pounds and wait another 11 days to lose again. As long as you keep faithfully doing your Oxys and really being careful not to consume far more calories than your body can use, you will probably see a definite weight loss. I've called it "steady by jerks". However, for the month of July, I've started using two 5-pound dumbbells, while doing several of the Oxy positions, both standing and floor positions, and my weight loss has been pretty steady. So far, no plateaus for this month! Smile If you'd like, you can email me at susannaok7@hotmail.com, and I will send you an outline of my eating plan.
I'm 47, so mid-life metabolism and hormone changes are a reality for me, too. I only Oxy once a day, 5 or 6 days a week. I also garden and push a lawn mower around on about 2 acres... Razz. It feels good to feel good enough to do that! Last summer, I could mow for an hour or so, then for about 2 days I couldn't get out of the house because my legs were too sore! This is so much better!!! Smile Sorry to be so long-winded!
Good luck! SmileSusanna

Hi everyone! I'm new to oxycise so am looking forward to the changes I'm going to see by the results of doing oxycise! WOW! Susanna! Your 6 month update is certainly encouraging! Helps me to remain determined in breathing on! I'm hoping in 6 months I'll have such a glowing report! I've been on every diet imaginable and always wind up back to square one. So, I'm putting oxycise to the test. What is a typical day of eating for you like? Any input will certainly be appreciated. Have a blessed day everyone!

I hope you have wonderful results with Oxycise, too! I feel so much better!!!
A typical day of eating:

Breakfast 300 calories-
1 grain, 1 dairy, & 1 fruit
(1 slice toast, 1/2c cottage cheese, 1/2c pineapple)
Lunch 350 calories-
1 grain or starch, 1 protein, 1 fruit, unlimited veggies
(taco salad-corn chips, 1/4c taco meat, 1/4c refried beans, salsa, onion, a sprinkling of grated cheddar, lettuce, plus an orange)
Supper 450 calores-
1 protein, 1 grain or starch, unlimited veggies
(I often have salad for supper with either tuna or ham and a little grated cheese, maybe a boiled egg, and all the veggies I have to add. There are two fat-free dressings I really like-Kraft's Honey Dijon & Hidden Valley Ranch.)
Snacks 2/ 100 calories each for a total of around 1300 calories a day. I really think I've come closer to 1500 calories many days, but that's still within easy losing range for many people.

Portion size and eating things you enjoy are the 2 secrets, I think. Eat slow, eat things you really like to eat that you know are good food, don't completely deprive yourself of goodies, and you can lose weight! I sure am!!!

Hope this helps! SmileSusanna
