I've been back to Oxycising for about ten days now. This is probably the sixth or seventh new start since I originally purchased my tapes back in 2000. I dusted them off this time because I enrolled in a dancing class I love (West Coast Swing) and I want my arms to look toned in sleeveless tops. I realized that I've never done the Abs/Upper Body tape before. Even though I don't believe I've dropped any inches or pounds (I didn't measure), I feel stronger all the way around, mentally and physically. Usually on Mondays I am exhausted after putting in 20+ hours as a server in a busy restaurant on weekends. Instead, today I woke up with energy and no muscle soreness. I catch myself sitting and standing taller, and my lower back feels strong. Best of all, I've discovered that my low-grade depression (self-diagnosed) is significantly lifted as soon as I get through a tape. I can't believe how good I feel, despite this completely gray, drizzly weather we're having today in New England. I'm curious if there have been any official studies done on increased oxygen and mental/emotional health. Anyone?

Hi Nancy,
I just had to poke my head in and tell you that we think it's GREAT that you have started Oxycise! again! Welcome back!

Regarding depression....If you read through the "Success Stories" here on our website you will probably notice many testimonials that mention improvement in mental outlook and feelings of well-being. Many people have said that Oxycise! makes them FEEL better--less moody, less stressed, more happy. Some of them don't notice this effect, though, until they QUIT doing Oxycise! for a period of time...they notice that something is suddenly missing!

Several customers have also commented that Oxycise! has helped them with PMS and depression.

Kathy, in the "Smiles of Success" section of our website, mentioned a real improvement in symptoms of depression after doing Oxycise!

(See http://www.oxycise.com/Success/smiles10.htm#Kathy )

Sarah, another customer, mentioned similar results in the following message:

Subject: Oxycise! is my anti-depressant medication!

One benefit of Oxycise that I never notice until I stop doing it consistently is how it lifts my moods. I have been to counselors, psychologists, and even a psychiatrist over my short 24 years to be treated for depression, and they all agree I have a propensity for it. I have been on all the medications, from Zoloft to Prozac, but could not find any with side effects I could live with. I also tried the natural remedies, which did work well, but I was worried about long-term side effects (i.e. ones that may show up in ten years!) from taking it every day. Incidentally, mood disorders run in my family so I am sure this will always be a battle ground for me.

When I Oxycise consistently, my moods are much more consistent and I become a much more optimistic person. I also find it easier to tackle hard emotionally-grounded issues for myself when I am Oxycising.

So, now that I write that, I realize I need to get back to Oxycising twice daily... I have been slacking lately and have noticed how much more moodier I am and how the small tasks seem more difficult again. Two days ago my husband said to me, "you should Oxycise more..." but he didn't expand on why... now I realize what he meant!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Happy Breathing,
Julie
PS: For anyone suffering from clinical depression I should add: Be sure to follow your doctor's advice concerning treatment for your depression. Even if you start to feel better, do not decrease or stop taking prescription medications without first consulting your health care professional. It is often necessary to "wean" your body slowly from antidepressants, and should be done according to your doctor's instructions.
